Recipe Box, Last Minute Super Bowl Supper, Create a Pizza with what you have!

Are you watching the Super Bowl tonight?
Do you need a wonderful last minute nosh
that you can easily throw together with what you have?

My go to dish for last minute entertaining,
or a family dinner, is pizza
And no, not pizza delivery,
but a “clean out the fridge,”
get creative, and make your own pizza!

Let’s start with the crust…
there are many many options~

Now for the Sauce
And now for the toppings!
Let your imagination run wild!


I recently made this pizza with a crescent roll sheet,
spread with blue cheese dressing,
ham, asparagus, crispy bacon, and a sprinkle of pecan pieces

Recipe for Pizza
Ingredients
Pizza Crust Options
- crescent roll dough or sheet
- french bread
- canned pizza dough
- frozen pizza dough
- Boboli pizza crust
- Tortillas
- Puff Pastry
- Pie Crust
- Naan bread
- Hamburger buns
Pizza Sauce Options
- homemade or jar Marinara sauce
- Tomato sauce
- Alfredo sauce
- Creamy salad dressing
- Mayonnaise
- olive oil
- Pesto
- Queso
- fig jam
Cheeses
- Mozzarella
- Provolone
- Gouda or Smoked Gouda
- Fontina
- Asiago
- Manchego
- Parmesan
- Monterey Jack or Pepper Jack
- Cheddar, sharp, extra sharp, or Vermont white
- Swiss
- Bleu cheese, roquefort, or gorgonzola
Vegetables
- asparagus
- broccoli

Pizza Meats
- bacon, Canadian bacon
- ham, prosciutto
- salami
- pepperoni
- chicken
- BBQ chicken or pork
- turkey
- ground beef or ground chicken
- sausage, Italian sausage or chorizo
- shrimp

- anchovies
- steak
Fruits
- figs
- red grapes

Garnishes
- Parmesan
- fresh basil
- red pepper flakes
- pine nuts, pecans, walnuts
- parsley

Instructions
- Prepare crust per package directions or partially bake.
- Top with sauce of choice
- Add toppings of choice. Meat should cooked before topping. Vegetables can be used raw or roasted according to your liking
- Bake at 375-425 degrees, until crust is cooked and golden and cheese has melted
- Garnish as desired


Ham, Bacon and Asparagus pizza
Ingredients
- 1 crescent roll dough sheet
- 8 slices bacon, cooked and cut into 1 inch pieces
- 1 cup diced cooked ham
- 12-16 spears asparagus, cooked crisp and cut in 1 inch pieces
- 3/4 cup creamy blue cheese dressing
- 2 oz bleu cheese crumbles
- 1/2 cup roasted pecan pieces
- 2 oz grated Parmesan
Instructions
- Put dough on a parchment lined baking sheet and prick all over with a fork
- Bake at 375 degrees for 6-8 until it begins to turn golden
- Spread with salad dressing and top with remaining ingredients
- Return to oven and bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden and melty
