Tablescapes, Catching Crabs

No crabby attitudes at the beach!

Not too hard when the sand and surf are within reach…

Lots of crabs and sealife have washed ashore

A big blue fish and crabs galore!

Nautical floats and watching for boats…

Right now the show is out by the pier

The construction is ongoing, and completion is near

No crabby attitudes at the beach, our pier’s almost finished

The end is within reach!

This is our family’s favorite place to dine

No crabby attitudes, and the view is divine

The air is breezy and the mood carefree

You can’t possibly feel crabby,

you’ll feel happy as a fish in the deep blue sea!

Watch out for crabs!

  1. BERNADETTE says:

Beautiful setting for crabs and spaghetti perhaps?

  2. Such a lovely summer theme! I am ready for the seafood feast 🙂

  3. Jenna, I know you are so happy that the pier is near completion. Who could possibly be crabby at your beautiful alfresco table and the beautiful view!! I always enjoy your poems!

    • Thank you Pam, it has been a long drawn out process, but the guys are so nice, not to mention insanely strong! It’s been fun to have a ring side seat and watch…

  4. Now, that would be a table and view where I would be thrilled to dine. I love the theme but th best news is that you are making such headway on the pier! What a relief it will be to have it finished

  5. Rita C. says:

I love those plates and napkins (are those dish towels, by chance?), Jenna! Your decorated flatware is festive and the outdoor setting and view – divine, you said it. Happy the dock is nearly complete. Now, if we can just have a calm hurricane season!

  6. Ricki Treleaven says:

Your table is the cutest thing! I love the theme and the attitude it conveys. Too, too cute! And what great news about your pier. Y’all have recovered quickly from the storm as I’m discovering; storm recovery doesn’t happen overnight, in weeks, or even months. I know y’all are so happy! Your painting is fantastic, too. Have a super weekend!

    • Quickly is a relative term as it’s been almost a year, but we do feel lucky, yet nervous as the most active part of hurricane season is only just around the corner. The pier is supposed to be hurricane proof, so hopefully we will have better protection in the future…

  7. Kim says:

Jenna, this table is so cute! love the crab and fish dishes – how perfect are they for the background view! I don’t think anyone could be crabby sitting at you lovely table looking at the view. So happy for you that your pier is almost done – perfect to enjoy the rest of the summer (hopefully without the hurricanes…)!

  8. Mary says:

Love your crabby table Jenna! I know you and your family are beyond ready for your pier to be complete! Keeping my fingers crossed that no hurricanes blow your way. 🙂

    • Thank you Mary, the pier is decked with a new material that is like an aluminum mesh so when the water rises it just goes through the decking rather than lifting it up, and the pilings were set much deeper, making it much more secure 🤞

  9. So great your pier is near completion. Yea! Yes, no one should be crabby at your beach house. Love the crab accessories, so fun and cute. Happy week.
