Creations, Holiday Shadow Box

I haven’t started decorating for Christmas yet,
but I have been thinking about Christmas
and doing a little holiday crafting

I had a gingerbread man ornament
leftover from another craft that I wanted to use
Hmmm….
At first I was thinking about a 3 D collage of Christmas things
and played around with PicMonkey
making a reference collage using some of my artwork
Then I went through my craft stash and holiday wrapping
and found some things that would work,
including a wooden artist canvas
that could serve as a shadow box

I had some wrapped gift boxes, a couple of metal candy canes,
tiny wreaths, mini ornaments and a rolling pin

I spray painted the wooden box white
then cut a piece of cute Santa wrapping paper to fit inside

I glued the gingerbread man into the frame at an angle
sort of like he was stepping inside

Next I added the rolling pin

I glued a mini wreath to the top center
and added some packages inside the frame

I glued the candy canes to one side

The candy canes balance out the gingerbread man
on the opposite side

Snowflakes for the final touch!

I wrapped the edges with a black checked ribbon
and secured the ends with glue

This was a fun quick craft mostly using things I already had
Ho Ho Ho here we go, onto the holidays
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving week!
Juicy Details
I did not make the gingerbread man, but it would be easy to recreate one with cardboard, ric rac and felt
