Let’s Go Fishing!

Welcome to the Summer Tablescape Blog Hop,

hosted by our very fabulous Rita @ Panoply

We are sharing all kinds of tables and themes

Inspiration for your summer celebrations!

If you’re hopping in order,

I know you enjoyed the Beach Reading Table from the Bookish Delittante

who doesn’t love curling up with a good book in the summertime!

At my house, summer means a lot of R & R on the coast

and fishing is a priority

I’m not much on catching fish,

but I do like to play with fish dishes!

Let’s go fishing at my table,

it’s a win win~

All the fish at this table have already been reeled in!

There are fish plates and fish napkin rings

Fish bowls and fish everything!

Fish boards are topped with fishing things

There are lots of patterns and colors adding a happy zing

A fishing boat holds a pole and a blue fish about to be caught

There’s a fish pitcher and a fish “whatnot”

Salt and pepper are inside brass reels

Fish bowls in different sizes stand by for discarded shrimp peels

This is such a lovely place to be

By the sea, by the sea, by the beautiful sea!

Juicy Details

I’ve had everything on this table for a long time…I’m trying so hard not to buy anything new, and just create new looks for the things I have. The tablecloth is actually for a round table with an umbrella. I disguised the hole in the center and the zipper with 2 fish placemats topped with the large fish cutting board and wooden boat. There are a lot of colors on the table, but the dominant ones are red white and blue so this table is not only perfect for Father’s Day but for the 4th of July, or any summer occasion!

If you’re hopping in order,

next up is my friend Shannon @ Belle Bleu Interiors

with  A Summertime Luncheon in the Garden

  1. That table set up and those plates are simply adorable! Well done, Jenna.

  2. Jenna, I love your fishing table. The way you have mixed up patterns and textures, I don’t recognize any of the elements being used before. The fish plates are so cute as is the centerpiece. I can just imagine enjoying a meal on this lovely table as you watch boats and activity on the water. I am always amazed at your rhymes, so clever!

It is always a treat to hop with you. Happy Tuesday, hoping for rain today!

  3. So clever to pull all your fishy things together on one table. I could swear some of these things I haven’t seen you use before, but bravo for shopping your closets first. You have the perfect spot for an al fresco meal.

    • Thanks so much Carole, it’s fun to challenge yourself to create a new look with things you already have, and yes, that table is our family’s favorite spot!

  4. Nancy says:

I love that you use what you have! That has now become a new philosophy for me as I am getting a bit crowded in my storage areas.
Your table is beautiful by the sea. I love those fish plates and your centerpiece… along with your beloved rhyming.
    Happy June Jenna!

  5. Karen says:

I love the way you take what you have and use it in new ways…very inspirational. After all, we only have so much storage room. 😊

  6. Jenna, you changed things up well because I’m not recognizing everything. I don’t blame you for enjoying playing with the fish dishes! You have so many cute things. If you fished then everyone would be hungry since you are always making some wonderful.
I always love your rhymes. You have a gift with humor, creativity, and rhyming.
Enjoy all the beauty and good eating there.

    • Thanks so much Bonnie! In truth, I’m really not much of a fish eater, I only like shrimp and scallops, but I love to watch my family enjoy the thrill of the catch!

  7. Denise/My Home of All Seasons says:

Such a fun table Jenna and with an absolutely gorgeous view too! Love the fish theme and they are exactly the fish I’d want to play with too. The problem is, I’d have trouble ever leaving your deck when the meal was over! Have a wonderful summer and enjoy the sun, sea, and all the family you can gather!

  8. Cecilia says:

Jenna, your fishing table is delightful! What a pretty view, and I love your whimsical fishy accents–pinned!

  9. Debbee says:

Jenna, you really reeled me in with your delightful haul of fishing details, set against a spectacular coastal view. Adore the centerpiece — what a clever and fun styling! Like you, I am trying not to purchase much new these days, while enjoying all the stuff I already have. I’d love to have a seat at your table — with or without a fishing pole!

  10. Mary says:

Jenna, You reeled in so many cute details to create your fishing table that it all looks new to me! So clever to camouflage your hole and zipper in your tablecloth with your centerpiece items. I had to chuckle at your rhyme: “Salt and pepper are inside brass reels. Fish bowls in different sizes stand by for discarded shrimp peels” 😊 I hope you’re enjoying your time at the coast, I know it’s your happy place! As always it’s a treat to join you at the table and hop with you. Happy Tuesday ♥

  11. Rita C. says:

Jenna, this is such a great table, not just for theme, color and location (location, location!), but because you’ve used everything you already had! As I was scrolling and reading, I was thinking of the many fish plates I purged to others when we downsized (but kept one special serving bowl with dip dish). It’s wonderful to see what you’ve done here, from the boards holding all the elements, to the dish stacks and clever coverup of the round cloth. That picture of CC is adorable, but I’m with you, having it all reeled in already makes it a whole lot more fun! This is perfect for your guys for Father’s Day or anytime you all celebrate a big catch day. Thanks for bringing the catch of the seas to us. I love having you join in these hops.

    • Thank you Rita, I love these tablescape hops because it always motivates me to come up with something new and different! So good of you to purge and give away, I keep telling myself to do that, but then I can’t seem to get around to it! As you can see, I love fish decor and accessories, and I love to see my family enjoying fishing, all the kids love fishing off our pier, and of course the big boys love the days spent on the boat 🎣

  12. Jenna, your fishing table is so fun and creative. Love the centerpiece with the fish and rod. The fish plates are fun and perfect with the rattan chargers. So smart to cover the hole in the tablecloth. You have some cool items. Sometimes using what gives us a chance to be creative. Always a pleasure join you.

Jenna, this table make me happy! It looks like so much fun! The red, white, and blue color palette is so pretty and perfect for summer! Your boat centerpiece is adorable, and what a gorgeous view. You live in such a beautiful place. I know your family will love gathering around this lovely table.

  14. Kitty says:

Perfect table for your beach house and I loved the rhyme!

  15. Kim says:

Jenna, I love love your let’s go fishing tablescape! The fish bowls and plates are so cute and the salt and pepper reels are just adorable! Love all the fish accents in your centerpiece too. And how great is it that you already everything. The view is fantastic. Enjoy your lovely table and Happy Tuesday!

Such a fun table J! I appreciate that you used what you had at home to create the table. I always feel like the creative side of my brain is being stretched when I need to come up with something fresh using what is in my storage closet. The salt and pepper reels are really a cute touch. Your coastal home must be a wonderful place to spend the summer at 🙂

    • Thanks so much Rachelle, we bought the house when our kids were babies and it has been such a special place for our family and now our grands…plus it’s nice to be there by myself for a few days too 🙂 We bought the salt and pepper reels on a trip to Key West years ago, and they’re such fun to use in our coastal home. My storage space is over flowing so I am not buying a thing 😂

  17. thefrenchhutch says:

Jenna, you’ve set such a delightful fish themed table. I’m with you, not much for fishing but I love those delightful fish plates. Such a cute pic of fishing from the pier. I always love the gorgeous view from your settings at the beach. What a delightful centerpiece, the boat is darling. Enjoy the R & R beachside. Look forward to seeing you back in the city……….

  18. Very nice tablescape! I’m loving those unique salt and pepper shakers.

  19. Jenna, love those fishing pictures. They really made me smile. Fisherman or women or little girls are so enthusiastic about the sport. You were able to set a lovely fishing table and…those plates. Blue and white fish plates are something I haven’t seen before. A great choice for a lovely outdoor table setting.
    Lynne

  20. Something’s fishy here……Oh, wait! It’s SUPPOSED to be!!!🤣🤣😂 When I saw the first pic of the table my mind immediately went to a 4th of July holiday celebration. Perfect! And even the little ones throwing that line out there like a pro!!!!! I’m IMPRESSED!!!!!!!!!

  21. Ricki Treleaven says:

Jenna, this is the cutest! I love everything about your table, and I know I’d rather play with your fish plates than actually go fishing! ;P
I love your plate stacks, and the bowls are so cute. I really like the fish platter, the way the fish hangs down below. So unique! Your centerpiece is adorable. I always enjoy your tablescapes and all your creativity. You inspire me, My Friend!

  22. Ann Krucek says:

Jenna, I think my husband is on his way down!! he loves to fish, so your table really hit a sweet spot here! Your table is adorable with those wonder fish plates!! I love the boat centerpiece with the fish getting hooked!! Too cute!! Perfect, as you said for Father’s Day as well as our patriotic holidays!! I hope you have a wonderful summer!!☀️

    • Thanks so much Ann! What is it about guys and fishing, they get so excited!! I have a hard time resisting cute fish things, so much fun to use for coastal decor 🙂

  23. Marsha says:

Jenna, What a fun and playful fishing tablescape. Living with a man who loves to fish Lake Michigan in Wisconsin, I know how exciting it can be. First I love your colorful table runner. It really seems to be the inspiration for all of the wonderful decor. Is that “whatnot” fish dish a Mexican Talavera piece? I have collected plates from Mexico, Portugal and Spain and I love the designs, bright colors and various patterns. You have some very pretty and unique fish print plates and the centerpiece with your rod, reel and blue fish is the perfect piece to play off of your runner. What a happy and artistic fishing tablescape. Have a great time waterside.

    • Thank you so much Marsha! My son and son in law LOVE to fish, boys and their toys, right 😂 The fish bowl you asked about is something I picked up at HomeGoods or somewhere similar, {I’ve had it a long time, can’t remember!} so it is probably just a copy of the things you mentioned. I hope you’re having a wonderful summer!

  24. Jenna, I always smile when I see any of your tables with an ocean theme. I love, love your fish dishes and all the adorable things you choose for your centerpieces! The table runner with fantastical fishes, the wonderful wooden boards, the colorful bowls and pitchers, the joyfully vibrant colors and patterns come together for a delightful get-together by the sea. And no actual fishing required, lol.

    • Thanks so much Sandra, aren’t you the sweetest! Yes, no actual smelly, messy fishing required! This just sort of came together after I got the idea to use the fishing rod {it is actually a lighter} I hope you’re having a wonderful summer!

  25. Sarah says:

Jenna, your table pulled me in hook, line, and sinker! I’ve said it before, but your waterside setting is 100%. Love that you focused on red, white, and blue and covered the fishing theme to perfection. Love, love, love the blue and white fish plates. What a catch those were! And the brass reel S&P! Your table details offer classic design, texture, and the touch of whimsy that I find so desirable. Great job! Sorry I’m so late arriving. Have a beautiful Sunday!

  26. Jenna, what a great theme for summer and location on the water. All your dishes are so pretty and the fish motif couldn’t be more fun. Love the red patterned tablecloth as a background. What an amazing setting to enjoy a pretty dining experience with friends.

  27. Kari says:

Jenna we can camp and fish together!!!! What fun that would be. You are always inspirational in your settings…don’t know how you come up with so many of your ideas and you paint too!!! And quite well I might add. Always envious of your many talents. hugs my friend Kari @ Me and My Captain

  28. Jenna, before I even got to the bottom where you mentioned Father’s Day, that is exactly what I was thinking about this fun tablescape! It is just perfect for a Father’s Day celebration! It would be just the thing for my husband who happens to be and avid fisherman! I love how you are trying to use the things you already have, I try to do that so much myself! Not only does it save money, but it also saves on storage space, too! I always enjoy coming by and seeing this lovely setting for a table by the water, and this is a perfect theme for your wonderful location! I hope you have a season of lots of wonderful meals, making wonderful memories around your table! But wait…where are the fish painted wine glasses? LOL!

    • Oh, thank you so much Chloe! Fishing is a very big deal at my house, and I have a weakness for fish accessories~ I actually do have painted fish glasses in two different designs, I should have used them 😲 I hope you have a great summer too, keep cool!

  29. lghiggins says:

I love how you are repurposing your tablescape items. Dr. Seuss would heartily approve of your whimsical decor and rhymes. So fun!

  30. Rebecca says:

Jenna, I love the pattern on that tablecloth! It has a cool nautical vibe that is perfect for a fish themed tablescape. I agree with Chloe that this is the ideal table setting for Father’s Day! It has a masculine feeling with the wooden accent pieces, too. The view from your porch is gorgeous and so relaxing. It’s great to be hopping with you again. Happy Summer!
