Valentine Gifts for the Cook or Chef

Welcome to the January Creative Craft blog hop

hosted by Sara from Birdz of a Feather

Each month this group of clever crafters

share ideas and tutorials of things they have made

Welcome readers, friends and visitors from Decorate and More with Tip

She is so smart to get a head start on Spring

with her Easter Riser!

This month I’m making gifts for the cook or chef,

his and hers, Valentine and Galentine!

They consist of a pot holder filled with a kitchen utensil,

a towel, chocolates, hand painted Valentine cards, a recipe

and heart cookie cutters tied on with ribbons

Let’s make the cards first and then we’ll assemble the gifts

I used watercolor, but you can use any paint you have or colored markers

Hearts are easy to paint,

stroke, stroke, fill

for the flowery heart, do the heart first

and then add small abstract flowers and leaves

with a variety of little strokes

For the squiggly hearts draw or paint hearts randomly

and when dry add heart shapes and twirly lines

with a fine liner pen

These are the gift items, black pot holders, Valentine dish towels,

wood spurtles,* Valentine chocolates, and cookie cutters

*a spurtle is a combination of a spatula and a spoon,

a great addition to your kitchen utensil drawer

Put a spurtle and tea towel inside the pot holder pocket

Next I tied a bow on the pot holder loop at the top

and then tied the cookie cutters on with ribbons

that and hung down from the bow

I tucked a little pink bag holding a chocolate truffle in front of the towel

Sign the hand made card and tuck it in behind the towel

I also added a few more small wrapped chocolate hearts

For the Chef’s gift the truffle bag is red

I included a recipe for each gift that uses the cookie cutters

Red Velvet brownies for her

and Fifth Dimension Burgers for him

You can download a printable of the recipes here

Print the recipes on card stock,

trim the excess paper and tuck them in leaving the title

and a part of the recipe visible

His and Hers!

A gift to enjoy in the kitchen plus chocolate!

DIY gifts are the best for Valentine’s Day, because of the thoughfulness it takes to make something. The question mark hint in fabulous, beautiful Valentines cards.
