Party Panache, Last Minute Super Bowl & Valentine Food Ideas

Pinterest is full of football charcuterie boards

and heart shaped food this week

I’ve seen soo many great last minute ideas for these occasions,

I want to share a few

just in case you need some last minute inspirations!

If you want to do a last minute football board

for the Super Bowl game tonight,

I thought this one with a pepperoni football was really cute

and it comes together very quickly

This one is similar, simple cheese, crackers, and pepperoni,

but the arrangement makes it eye-catching and party ready!

Here’s the same idea portrayed with vegetables

and you could serve a bowl of dip on the side

Are Pigs in a Blanket on your menu?

Amp up the presentation by arranging them in a football shape

and adding mustard to look like the lacing

Grab brownies from the bakery, get some canned icing,

and you can create brownie footballs in no time at all!

Cut opposite corners off brownie squares and add a squiggle

of chocolate icing and white icing laces

The Frosted Football Brownies look so cute on a field on green M & Ms

Are you staying home for Valentine’s Day?

There’s still time to make a Valentine charcuterie board

for 2, or for the whole family to enjoy

I love this one from Mary @Home is Where the Boat is,

she used a heart shaped candy box

If you don’t have a heart box,

Cut a heart shape from a piece of sturdy cardboard

and cover it with plastic wrap, foil, or valentine napkins

and use as a base for the ingredients

I love this one with the “meat” roses with rosemary stems

and chocolate “dirt” source

You can make a simple caprese style heart

with mozzarella and tomatoes source

to nibble on with a cocktail before dinner

Cut bread with a heart cookie cutter instead of squares

to make one of my all time favorite apps,

Tomato Canapes with Bacon Chive Aioli

Garnish your plates with tomato hearts

Make a diagonal cut through each tomato

from the middle of one side down across the bottom

Flip one tomato over to form a heart with a second tomato

skewer it together with a toothpick

Top cupcakes with heart picks

Look for them in the grocery or craft store in the baking section,

or make your own by cutting out heart shapes out of paper

and gluing them together with a toothpick in between

Coconut Cupcakes for all occasions

Top your cake with flowers like this Rose Topped Bundt Cake

We’re not having a gathering to watch the game tonight

because it’s on Sunday night,

I wish they would move it to Saturdays!

I have ties to both teams so I’m just hoping for a great game,

I’ll be rooting for both!

  2. What wonderful ideas! Love all the football shapes with laces made of cheese or mustard. Now I wish I had gotten the pepperoni I was eyeing at the store this past week. But I think I can make do with all the other goodies I brought home for today’s nibbling.
