Fearless Friday, Santa Ornament

I wanted ornaments to match these Santa face plates

that I got a while ago from HomeGoods

DSC_3320

They are a knock off of “Old St. Nick” plates by Vietri

which sell for $64 a piece

My plates were way more budget friendly at under $8

Vietri has “Old St. Nick” ornaments too, they are $34 each!

My ornaments cost less than $1,

which means you don’t have to cry if you break one 🙂

I started with the face

If you look at the plate,

the part of Santa’s face that is showing

is kinda of a wonky rectangular shape

Next came the brim of his hat

I left a little space on each side so I could add his hair

Then long fat, slightly curved strokes for his beard

DSC_3255

Two strokes for his mustache

DSC_3258

Dots with the tip of a brush handle for his eyes

DSC_3259

A larger red dot for his mouth

DSC_3260

A pom pom for the tip of his hat and stripes on the brim

A glass makes a handy stand for the paint to dry

Oh my goodness Jenna. I love the HG Old St. Nick knock off plates and they look fabulous on your table! I much prefer 8 dollars rather than 64 dollars – yikes. The ornaments are absolutely adorable, and honestly, I like them better than the originals, I must say. I think you did a fantastic job of them and there is just something about homemade that’s so special. I hope you are having a terrific week there and happy Monday!
