Rosy Valentine

Valentine’s Day is on the horizon

My thoughts have turned from snowmen to hearts and cupids

Welcome to the Valentine’s Day Tablescape Blog Hop!

A big thank you to our Hostess with the Mostess,

Rita from Panoply

Valentine’s Day is very special to me

because my son was born on Valentine’s Day

He knows I love MacKenzie-Childs and gave me this set of

Spectator Flower Buckets for Christmas

My husband brought beautiful red roses to the hospital

the day he was born so I decided to combine that memory

with my new buckets for a Rosy Valentine table!

We had very low temperatures here last week

and on Thursday when I set out to go to the store

to get flowers for my tablescape,

I couldn’t get my car out of the garage

because my driveway was covered with ice

“I’m going to the store, just give me a list of what you need” HHjr said

So I asked him to get me some roses and wow,

didn’t he do a great job!

These flower buckets are sized perfectly

to hold flower arrangements

For the centerpiece I grouped a few more

of my favorite Valentine things,

a sweet cupid, a Valentine Memory Cube

and a MacKenzie-Childs heart ornament from a special friend

Roses and buckets and favorite things,

looking at this makes my heart sing!

Each place setting has a glass painted with a cupid

and a big red heart

Everything is all ready for dinner to start!

The napkins are held by a gift topped napkin ring

and there’s a Valentine dessert charcuterie board that will be amazing!

Chocolate hearts of all sizes and shapes

Plus little sweethearts, it’s so hard to wait!

The glasses will be filled with a favorite wine

And paired with a special dinner, it will all be divine!

Jenna, it is so special to celebrate HHjr’s birthday on Valentine’s Day! I love the MacKenzie-Childs Spectator Flower Buckets…the perfect gift for you! I am surprised at your snow and ice when we had none. How sweet for your son to buy the pink and red roses for you. They are amazing in the buckets! Grouping the sweet Cupid, the Valentine Memory Cube and a MC heart ornament to the centerpiece is charming. Your painted glasses are always the perfect addition to a table. I would be thrilled to indulge in the dessert charcuterie board. Your rhymes always make me smile. It is a treat to sit at one of your creative tables! Happy Tuesday ❤️

    • Thank you so much Pam! I am crazy about the flower buckets, you will be seeing them a lot 🙂 Let’s hope we don’t get anymore deep freezing weather, I am so happy it’s warming up. 💕

Dessert first! I love it!! I use my mini Charcuterie boards a lot – aren’t they fun? I would love to sit here and chat with you, smell your roses and drink wine out of your cute painted stemware! ENjoy!

What a beautiful memory celebrated here, and having your son actually source the roses is a bit serendipitous, don’t you think? ♥ Yes, he did a fabulous job. Sit me down at one of those charcuterie table treats with wine, and we’ll just watch the ice (there) and snow (here) melt, how about that? Such a cute table setting, Jenna. Thank you for bringing your artistic fun and flair to our hops. It’s such a pleasure seeing your table designs.

    • Thanks so much Rita! I would love to have you sit and sip wine and eat chocolates with me! Thankfully the snow and ice is gone now, it’s raining and 60 degrees. Thanks for another wonderful blog hop!

Jenna, I know I’ve said this before, but your son’s a keeper 😊 I love your MKC spectator flower buckets and what sweet gesture and offer to shop for flowers for you! I love black and white checks and stripes with red and pink, and your mini boards with your sweet treats are such a fun way to serve and enjoy them. I love your decoupaged memory cube too! As always, it’s a treat to have a virtual seat at your table and hop with you, Happy Tuesday ♥

  6. Holiday birthdays are pretty cool. And the black and white is a modern twist full of fun.

Awww Jenna, I know how special it was for HHJr to get the beautiful roses for you. I also know you have sweet thoughts and memories from not so long ago. Your family has certainly stepped up over the past few years for you…and believe me I know how that is as I felt that too when I lost my husband of so many years. I said I would never marry again but the Lord brought the Captain into my life 5 years later….and now we have been married over 20 years. Thanks again for the lovely poetry. A special Happy Valentine’s Day to you. Hugs and Blessings Always my friend.

    • Thank you Kari. Yes, I am very blessed, my family has been amazing and it’s so nice to share a house with my son and his boys. I did not know you lost your first husband, I am so sorry, but how amazing the Captain came into your life! God works in mysterious ways…

  13. Kim Goddard says:

Jenna, this is such a sweet and touching post and I love all the memories you have shared. The MKC buckets were a lovely gift from your son and that he brought those gorgeous roses to fill them just sounds like the memory of your husband bringing you roses in the hospital when your son was born. It’s as if the memories have come full circle. Everything is beautiful on your table. The plate stack is wonderful with the charcuterie treat boards and I love the cupid wine glasses. Of course, the poetry always brings a smile. I’m wishing you a wonderful Valentine’s Day and a very Happy Birthday to your son!

    • Thank you so much Kim, yes, I guess the memories did come full circle! I love the buckets, you will be seeing them again! Thank you for the Valentine and birthday wishes 💕

  14. Barbara at Mantel and Table says:

Jenna your table is just lovely! And how sweet that your husband brought you red roses for your Valentines baby. Who obviously grew up to be a wonderful gift giver – what a perfect present! Sounds like he might have gotten that from your husband. He did do a fabulous job with your shopping request! 🙂 You’re right – I wouldn’t be able to wait for that darling chocolate board, either. I bet you painted those wine glasses too – everything’s just so darling! I can’t tell you how much you inspire me. SO great to share this hop with you! Happy Valentines my friend!

    • Thank you so much Barbara, such sweet words and thoughts 💕 My son knows I love flowers and MacKenzie-Childs so the flower buckets were a perfect gift! I’m so glad you joined our tablescape blog hop group, we have so much fun!

What a “sweet” tablescape, made all the sweeter with special memories and your son stepping in the gap so you wouldn’t slip on the ice. We had black ice this week in OK. Schools closed, appointments cancelled–it’s nothing to be cavalier about!

  17. Jill Kuhn says:

    Hugs,

  19. Lynne says:

The first thing I saw was the beautiful roses in those eye-catching containers. Your son did an outstanding job choosing the flowers. They set the tone for the rest of the table. Black, white and red work so well together to create a simple but interesting look. the chocolate candy charcuterie board was a wonderful idea. It adds color to the table and provides such a sweet treat. It will be a wonderful feast for Valentine’s Day at your beautiful table.

  21. Jenna, I love the vibrant roses in the amazing French-inspired flower buckets. Your son has a good eye for design and flower selection! The charming additions to the centerpiece and the delicious array of sweets on the mini charcuterie boards are a wonderful counterpoint to the bold black and white runners. What a fun table to share! Happy Valentine’s Day
