Tales of the Traveling Tote

It’s time for more adventures of the Traveling Tote!

We are a group that share a love of MacKenzie-Childs

We all have the same large Courtly Check tote bag

We post about where our totes have been every 3 months

and host a giveaway which you can enter at the end of this post

One of the highlights of December was meeting Emily and Ricki Jill

for our annual Birthday/Christmas luncheon

The tote in this picture is a new tote that I’m crazy about

Courtly Flower Market Tote

It weighs nothing and it folds up neatly into it’s pocket

and you can put it inside your purse or other tote

so it’s handy to have in case you need it

We went to Seasons 52 where they love to celebrate birthdays!

Our table was decorated with a Happy Birthday sign

They served us complimentary champagne, an appetizer

and dessert!

After lunch we opened birthday and Christmas gifts

and had a wonderful time as we always do 🎉

I got a cute handpainted MKC Christmas ornament

from our Traveling Totes leader Patti@Pandora’s Box

It looked so pretty on our Christmas tree

I invited some friends over for cocktails on my December birthday

and they brought me so many beautiful flowers!

We celebrate Christmas with my Sister in law

and her children and grandchildren

with a Christmas Eve lunch every year

I passed the hostess baton to my daughter several years ago,

her beautiful home is perfect for entertaining and large gatherings

She set up a drink buffet on the counter

and we had a large charcuterie buffet on the island

I have been mostly hibernating this winter,

We didn’t even go to the beach house after Christmas like we usually do

as the weather was supposed to be cold and rainy

January was really cold, we even had snow!

January in the South means hunting season

My son and his 2 boys are avid hunters

and love to practice shooting their bows and arrows in our side yard

where they have targets, a small black bear and large deer

One day I looked out the window and saw a real deer

who apparently came to check on his look-a- like!

In February Miss Coquille enjoyed hanging out by

the Valentine Candy Shop in our favorite grocery store

It was quickly transformed into Spring after Valentine’s Day

and the gift area was full of bunnies and Spring decor

It was hard to resist putting lots of cute things into my shopping cart~

I couldn’t resist buying some faux flowers though, they look so real!

My totes and I will be heading to the beach house later this month

for Spring Break and Easter

I’m looking forward to warmer temps and Spring fun!

Guess What?

Our Giveaway this time is the same kind of tote I mentioned earlier!

Good morning Jenna, what a wonderful spot to enjoy a birthday celebration. How fun you three are so close by to celebrate together. I’ve seen so many cute bunny things this spring, but not at my grocery store, that would make them hard to resist, which I’m guessing is the plan. 😊 I know you’re looking forward to a beach getaway. It’s felt like spring here until just a day ago but temps are warming back up with rain on the way. Happy March ♥

    • Thanks Mary, I’ve got to find out who does the ordering for the gift shop at that grocery store, they find the cutest things, and the displays are constantly changing, I can’t wait to see what they do after Easter!

  2. Patti @ Pandora's Box says:

I love that you three get together and have a chance to visit – we need photos of the three of you!!! Isn’t is fun passing the entertaining onto the next generation? After 40+ years I was also happy to do that, too! The Candy Bar made me drool and zoom in – YUM! Enjoy spring at the beach house!

    • Thanks Patti, Emily, RJ and I always have such a great time, I’m hoping we can meet again in the next few weeks. Yes, passing the baton is wonderful! Happy almost Spring, are your temps warming up yet?

  3. Jenna, how wonderful to live close enough to celebrate birthdays with Ricki Jill and Emily. Like Patti said, we need to see photos of the three of you. The restaurant looks fabulous. They really know how to spoil the ladies. Love seeing your favorite grocery store’s decor. They have the cutest decor. I couldn’t resist adding some items to my cart either. I know you and the family will really enjoy getting away to your lovely beach house. Happy March ❤️☘️

    • Thank you Linda, Ricki Jill and I live only 20 minutes apart in different suburbs of Birmingham and Emily lives about an hour away in Tuscaloosa~she comes to Birmingham to shop occasionally. Yes, the grocery store is a treasure trove, they have the cutest stuff and it changes constantly! Have a wonderful Spring!

Jenna, It is always a delight when we get together for our annual birthday celebrations. I love that you entertained your friends for your birthday. They most certainly did gift you with beautiful flowers. I love seeing some of your daughter’s beautiful home and the charcuterie buffet was such a lovely way to serve the group. I love your PW, we have several here but none have the delightful gift shop. I’m afraid my cart would have been full! I know you are looking forward to your spring break getaway Let’s chat next week. Hope to see you soon…..Hugs.

    • I forgot to sign in so I appear as anonymous in my comment above.
      Emily

    • Thanks Emily, whenever we get together it is a special time! That PW is different from all the others for some reason. They must sell a lot because nothing is ever marked down and it’s always changing. It is my go to store when I need a gift for someone. I need to take you there!

It’s always fun to see what you and Miss Coquille have been up to! Wise move to wait for the beach house until Spring Break. We have had some really strange weather this year. I’m glad you labelled your deer pictures; I don’t think I could tell them apart!

    • Wasn’t that deer interesting? I know there are deer in the woods behind my house, but I’ve only seen one doe in my yard one day. I thought it was too funny that that buck looked exactly like are fake one and he was obviously curious!

  6. Pam says:

Jenna, how wonderful that Emily, Ricki Jill, and you can celebrate birthdays and Christmas together. It is still hard to believe you had snow and we didn’t see a single snowflake. It has been so cold today. I know you love warm weather and the beach by late March should be
    perfect! Happy March!

    • Thanks Pam, we always have such a good time at our lunches. I can’t believe we got snow when you didn’t, that’s crazy! The trees are all flowering here, it’s beautiful! Have a good weekend, I’m ready to see some sunshine after the rain all day yesterday!

  7. Sarah says:

Jenna, I love that you and Emily and Ricki Jill get together to celebrate. How special! I’d be in real trouble with a grocery store that sells such cute holiday things. What is the name of your store? Enjoy spring break at the beach. Hope you have perfect weather. Happy Spring!

    • Thank you Sarah, Emily, RJ and I always have such a good time. The store is Piggly Wiggly, a chain in parts of the South. There are several around Birmingham, but it’s only this one in Mountain Brook {a high end suburb} that has all the gifts. I love to go there frequently to see what’s new! So glad you have recovered from your surgery and get out and about!

  8. I can’t believe you didn’t make it to the beach house. Yikes even snow – wise choice. The flowers at Christmas on the table were stunning. And speaking of beautiful – that new tote is amazing. I love the combinations of patterns.

I love that the three of you are so close by to have celebrations. Easter at the beach house sounds wonderful. My husband enjoyed seeing the photo of the deer as he is an avid hunter also. I love that you entertained your friends for your birthday! Happy March ♥ Your store has the cutest holiday decor items.

You were certainly spoiled for your birthday, Jenna, and how nice to meet Emily and Ricki Jill at Seasons 52. Your grocery store had the cutest displays. It would be hard to resist. That lightweight tote is so cute!

What a fun day with friends – and your daughter’s home for your birthday looks gorgeous (at least what you shared.) Both my girls live in small homes so I can’t pass that baton yet. May never, but that’s ok. A few years ago they started helping more. Yay. ♥♥ Your bday flowers = WOW!! And it is so nice to see your travelin’ tote doing all that awesome “window” shopping. And yes, ma’am those faux flowers look SO real!!! Hope you have a fabulous spring right around the corner. : = )

  12. Rita C. says:

I love that market tote we’re sponsoring! It looks so pretty in real life! So happy you gals celebrated together. My sisters and I hit Seasons 52 again this past week. Love your ornament from Patti, and all the love you received from friends on your birthday. The deer target is too funny. I have a neighbor who has a deer target behind his home, in a ravine, and one day while walking I saw a cable technician stop to photograph it, thinking it was the real deal. 🤣 I’m happy spring is coming now, and look forward to your beach retreats.

    • Thank you Rita! I love my new Market Flower Tote, I keep it folded up in my crossbody bag for times like lunch with friends so I have a bag to carry things if I need one. Seasons 52 is my favorite lunch spot. That’s funny about your neighbors deer getting photographed, they do look real! Trees are blooming all over the place here, Spring has sprung! 🌷☘️🐇

  13. I always enjoy the tales of the traveling tote. It is amazing the delightful journey it has been on!

I so enjoyed yours and Emily’s birthday luncheon. 😀 We need to get together soon! I can’t get over the Liberty Park Pig….they seriously go all out with their decor and gifts section, don’t they! I want to apologize for missing the blog hop this time. It couldn’t be helped, unfortunately.

    • It’s great to hear from you RJ, I’ve been worried about you since you didn’t do a post for the TTTs and you’ve been quiet on your blog~ Yes, I hope we can get together soon for a Spring lunch!
