Glue Gun Caddy

It’s time for the May Creative Craft Blog Hop

Thank you Sara from Birdz of a Feather for hosting this month

Welcome readers, friends and visitors from Ann @ Apple Street Cottage

we are so glad you’re here!

Today I’m going to show you how to keep your gluing supplies

organized and handy

I was browsing Pinterest one day and came across this glue gun stand

created with 2 napkin holders and a silicone oven mitt

My glue gun is constantly falling over because it’s so top heavy~

I have a silicone oven mitt and decided to try this

Well my oven mitt is shaped differently and didn’t work,

so I would have to get a different one

plus I would have to get 2 napkin holders

I looked at Amazon

and discovered that it would cost at least $20+ …

Then I found this desk top Mini Arts and Crafts Organizer,

under $10

It has 3 sections, one half is a large section

and then 2 smaller sections make up the rest

This plain white finish was begging for a little paint!

Our kitchen and my adjacent art & craft area is mostly black and white

with a lot of MacKenzie-Childs black and white checked things

So I went with black checks

A flat square brush makes quick work of adding the checks

around the top and bottom with black gloss enamel craft paint

Next came polka dots using the opposite end of the paint brush,

dipping the tip of the handle into the paint to apply the dots

After the pink dots came aqua dots

My glue gun and cord fits perfectly in the large section,

with glue sticks and a case of finger protectors

in the other 2 sections

It’s neat and tidy and slides into the cabinet when not in use

and then when I’m using it,

the heated gun stays upright in the caddy

between applications of glue

Everything right at my fingertips and it looks pretty

sitting on my desk too

Jenna, this is a great idea to store any number of things. Organization is not my strong point. Not only is this a great idea, it is also cute, and easy enough that I could do! Wishing you a wonderful Tuesday!

All crafters need …. I too have problems with my hot glue gun. I store it up on the wall in my closet, but your idea seems to be a better solution. Thanks for sharing, Ann!

  6. Love the glue gun! But I’m afraid my sticks are all over the place.

  7. Ann says:

You certainly know how to dress up a plain caddy, Jenna. We all want our organization to look pretty and you’ve shown us a great way to do it!

That is such a great idea, Jenna, and you enhanced the caddy so beautifully! It sure beats the disposable aluminum pie tin that mine sadly sits in.

Jenna, this is a wonderful idea! Finding a place for my glue gun while I’m using it is always a challenge. The MC inspired pattern is also so pretty and looks perfect on your desk. Thanks so much for sharing,. I am always looking for ways to be more organized. Happy Wednesday!

What a great idea, my glue gun often falls over too! I should have a caddy for it since I am always toting it around with me fixing things. lol, my way of fixing things anyway. Thanks for sharing your inspiration, it looks lovely too!

Jenna, who would know you could make an artistic-looking glue gun caddy! So cute and yet so practical, not just for holding your glue gun but also for carrying to your work space. You should patent this idea.

This is such a great idea. And I love how you decorated something so simple and made it extra special.

What a great idea and personalization! I need something like this in my life, instead of glue sticks stored and gun stored separately.
    Enjoy your weekend!

Great idea and you made it look so cute too!

Brilliant Jenna! It’s things like that that make crafting so much more fun – and this is such a cute pattern in your fun and artistic style! Did you paint the platter in the last picture? It looks like you too! Thanks for sharing the fun, and for the great idea! Hope you have a lovey week!
