Fearless Friday, A Gnome for the Holidays

A “gnome” for the Holidays!

Today we’re going to have a little fun with gnomes

This little gnome is super easy to create

Start with his nose

Add his beard

Sometimes it helps to turn your paper when drawing the opposite side

the body

the feet

hat and hands

a little pumpkin

At this point I went over the pencil sketch with ink and erased the pencil

stripes and pumpkin details

Color the pumpkin orange with yellow highlights

I colored the body brown, the shoes and pom pom black,

and the nose and hands tan

Green stripes on the hat

Yellow stripes and he’s done!

And a dotted background just for fun!

You can easily change him from Fall or Thanksgiving

to Christmas and the Holidays ~

Swap the pumpkin out for a Christmas tree,

change the colors to red and green,

and give him a star pom pom on his hat

Holiday Gnome!

I hope you’ll have some fun with gnomes

  1. I love his hat. It could hold many secrets under there – like a cupcake!

  2. This is so darn cute, and I’m a collector, no an obssesser of GNOMES…I know that isn’t a word, but it should be. Very cute, going to send the post to my Grandgirl…Thanks, Sandi

Jenna, your autumn gnome with the pumpkin is darling. Like Leslie Anne said, I love his hat, however I hadn’t thought of him hiding a cupcake under it 😂 Happy November!

So cute and I think it is something I can do. I’m going to give it a try on Sunday when I try to do things that are not “work.” Thanks for another good tutorial.

  7. I’ve been doing lots of gnomes lately and I love how easily you broke this down. I might have to try your version with the grands. The instructions are wonderful. Thanks!

Each one has a different personality depending on the season. He is adorable. I am picking this post as a feature this week. #HomeMattersParty
