Fearless Friday, Holiday Joy

Let’s have a little holiday joy today!

I wanted to make a festive JOY drawing

and pretty much made it up as I went along~

There was a lot of erasing involved!

The J got a Santa hat

Turning the paper upside down can help

when you are drawing something symmetrical like the Y

I decided to make an ornament the “O” and put holly on the Y

Stripes and dots

I inked over the pencil and erased

Time for color

I used different shades of green for the leaves,

and l left white spots on the berries for highlights

“JOY!”

Make a little holiday JOY and

Be Fearless!

  1. You made it look so simple…well, I am just so terrible at drawing and painting.

  2. The upside down trick is magical. It works in life as well, doesn’t it? Just look at things from a different perspective, and POOF! It’s all fresh and manageable. Thanks for the JOY.

You would have to be Scrooge himself not to smile at this sweet JOY picture. Thank you–a great sendoff into the weekend.

Jenna, there may have been a lot of erasing involved but it turned out beautifully! I love the J with the santa hat and it’s all so cute. You are so creative and I love watching you “create”. I hope you and your family have a wonderful Thanksgiving week (we have a ton of snow here, ugh!)!
