Tablescapes, Black & White Bistro

To distract myself from the falling snow a few days ago

that once again was not predicted in our deep Southern city

I set a table dreaming of a quaint cozy bistro

Especially when the snow is falling, the schools are closing early, and the entire town is totally freaked, and shutting down, once again!

I pray for you brave Northern souls, I just can’t imagine~

Thanks for stopping by, I hope the dreaming here today warmed you up a little~

  1. OMG I love this table!!!!!

I am re-painting my bedroom in a black and white theme with pops of pink and this table just speaks to me….and please please please tell me where you got those drop dead have to have square white plates??? PPPPLLLLEEEAASSSSEEE…lol

Oh and just in case…you don’t know about her you have to go visit Alycia at http://tabletwentyone.wordpress.com/…she (like you) has an adorable butler that sometimes crashes her parties too….I think she named him Bennington? LOL Yours is so cute, I wish my Dining Room was wide enough to have him in a corner…

    • Alycia and I have been blogging buddies for a long time, her butler is Geoffrey and mine is James~they are always trying to outdo each other! haha! Bad news on the plates, the large dinner is from Target but they are sold out or discontinued because I’ve been thinking of getting 2 more~ the medium square is from CTS 2 years ago. The salad plates I got in October at Home Goods, and I’m kicking myself for not buying the dinner plates too. I absolutely love them and use them ALL the time. Square seems to be so popular right now, just do some looking~another on line spot is Amazon, they have TONS of plates~ I hope you’ll post your bedroom, can’t wait to see!

  2. Ha! That’s funny that Christine noticed we have twin butlers!!! She’s so funny!

We brave souls up here are not happy about this winter, either. It has just been brutal! Here in the Kansas City area we have been below freezing for 11 days in a row now with at least 2 more of that kind of day in store. The sun is trying its best to peek out today…finally! It has been nearly a week since it last made an appearance. It snowed again yesterday and we woke up this morning to a huge brown stain on the kitchen ceiling, no doubt caused by the 11+” of snow piled on the rooftop. Since there’s been no rise in temps or sun to melt it, it has just been sitting there…doing silent damage. So…..you don’t even WANT to imagine this mess!!! 🙂

On to your fun table! This is a great winter time pick-me-up with the bright colors incorporated into the basic black & white. Not a dull moment on this tabletop! I was going to ask where you got the polka dotted items, but then it hit me….duh! You MADE them!

I love those “Bite” and “Eat” dishes!!! Wonder if they have a “Me” dish to go along with the “Bite” one? 🙂

Try to stay warm and just remember…this winter, too, shall pass!

  3. I love those green and black plates and everything else about your table, Jenna. I’m thinking about doing a table today. The sun is shining, even if it remains cold. We are promised 30 degrees or above later this week. First time in a couple of weeks for above freezing, so our ground is still covered with snow, but we are staying pretty positive….so far.:-)

  4. Love the fun and whimsy of this tablescape!! 🙂

Hi Jenna – Love the tablescape as always, especially the black and white with the pops of green. I had fun playing I Spy MC and then read through the comments and am feeling a little left out… I do not have a butler. Hummm…. Happy day! Hugs, Holly

  6. Mary says:

Love the black and white table with your cheery apple green accents Jenna! A great distraction from the winter weather. Our weather is arriving by mid day today but everyone has been scrambling and cleaning out the grocery store shelves for two days now. If only I had a butler to fill the fridge, the bird feeders and walk the dogs (one of which doesn’t like to get their paws wet) I’d be set 🙂

  7. I love this color combination and anything B&W always catches my eye, especially MC!! Cute plates and I love your butler!

  13. Cindy says:

What a bright and cheerful tablescape. Just what is needed for this long dreary winter. Thanks for your prayers for us Northerners. It does get old and depressing, especially this year.

  14. Diane says:

I totally agree, Jenna, about the weather. This Georgia girl and her husband have escaped to the beach!! A black and white combination is always a classic and your pops of green are wonderful. Love those dinner plates!!!

  16. Sarah says:

Jenna, I was out of town when you posted this fabulous table. Sorry to arrive late! Can’t think of anything more fun to do on a snowy day than play in the dishes, especially black and white ones. What a fabulous stack of plates. Loving the apple green accent. Who makes those adorable plates with the black edge and green stripes? They look fantastic with McK-C. 😉
