Home Decor, Finally Finished!! Beach House Addition

You might not think this is a special picture
But it is beautiful to me…see that big green thing on wheels? That is the dumpster that has been in our driveway for the past 4 as in F O U R months…and it’s leaving! Hooray!!!!
This little part of our unused front porch, 100 square feet to be exact
turned into a powder room and cozy little multipurpose space
Come on in!! Our Little Remodel is finally finished and I can’t wait to show it to you~
The floor tile is the same as in the kitchen and hallways…did you know that if you lay square tiles on the diagonal it visually expands your space?
The colorful threshold is made from leftover kitchen backsplash tiles.
The funkier the better in our little beach cottage~
The rooms are small, but they have big west facing windows that bring in a ton of light
I showed you the tile earlier this year, when we were making A Little Progress
My son, HHjr is a remodeling contractor and has a tile and granite installation business, and always finds me the latest and greatest stuff... He suggested tiling the whole wall~and he found me the sink~he knows me so well <3
It looks like a waterfall~
I looked at a lot of fancy mirrors, and I appreciate all the suggestions on Decisions Decisions, but I ultimately chose a tall weathered wood mirror that sort of blends in… there is enough drama going on with the crazy sink and the tile!
Speaking of waterfalls,
this is called a waterfall faucet~
Super Boy loves to wash his hands now!
The glass vessel sink is sitting on a vanity* that was specially made for us by one of HHjr’s friends. There is a brushed nickel towel bar for hand towels which disguise the supplies tucked on the open shelf under the sink
Through the bathroom you enter the small room which we are currently using as a nursery, but it has all kinds of possibilities, it could be used as office, studio, storage, and it is big enough for a set of bunkbeds when the grandchildren get a little older
The corner space is just the right size for a crib
Perfect for CC, our little mermaid!
I chose blue stripes and anchors for the drapes to keep things from becoming too girly~ Big E will be sleeping in here sometimes
We christened this over Easter, CC loved it!
But she said the walls are screaming for artwork!
I’m thinking maybe a big seahorse painting, so I did a little sketch to try it out
But then I found this at my favorite local shop and couldn’t resist!
I will get around to the seahorse eventually~
Baskets keep the toys and books handy and neat
Jubilee is written by my friend Karyn, you can read all about this wonderful book here
It is such a relaxing and happy space~
The shelf unit is perfect for holding diapers and extra bedding
I draped a burlap and sea shell ruffled table runner over the top to keep things tidy
There is a pocket door that closes off the bathroom from this room and another pocket door separating the powder room from the family room
The powder room is handy for guests because it is right off the main room. When a baby is sleeping, we just close the pocket doors and it provides a nice noise buffer
So what do you think? We just love it!
Tomorrow I will show you how to whip up these curtains in no time~

I will be sharing with these fabulous parties and blogs:
What a wonderful addition! Can’t wait to see it in person soon!!
Jenna, I have been waiting for this reveal! Absolutely gorgeous! I love every bit of it.
I think it’s brilliant! To take the unused porch space and turn it into s space you will use will make such a difference. I love the way you decorated, the tile is gorgeous and the vessel sink and waterfall faucet are great for this room. You have been busy! Job well done………….
Congrats on surviving the remodel Jenna! Everything looks great, I’m sure you’ll create many fun memories there this summer-enjoy:@)
These little spaces are genius! And, you used one of my most favorite colors! Pocket doors are incredible space savers. I don’t think they are used enough. You have created a perfect space to stash a little one away from the noise of family life at the beach. I love the sink and tile — very fun.
What a great way to use this space. Love that mirror, it’s perfect for the tile wall. The extra room will really come in handy with grandkids.
Blessings,
Linda
Very comfy and cozy looking – like come on in and sit down. I love it.

Jenna, I know you’re THRILLED to be finished! What a fun, functional and colorful space! I love the fantastic waterfall sink & tiled wall and the mirror is a perfect choice! Pocket doors are great space savers too. Lucky you to have a son with a granite & tile connection 🙂
Hi Jenna – Do you see me jumping up and down for joy for your big little reveal? Everything is perfect. Just perfect. My favorite of course is the waterfall sink. I love it all! Congratulations and it is well worth the wait. My family and I are making reservations at the Casa Painted Apron for sometime in June – work for you? Big smiles and hugs. Holly
ha ha, thanks Holly! June is going to be busy at our casa, we are hosting a family reunion, 50 of my favorite peeps coming from all over the country, yikes, so you might want to delay your visit!!
Congrats on finally getting the big green dragon out of your yard and your new space finished! It looks wonderful!!! and That waterfall faucet and tile are amazing, such a nice son to steer his mom into those wonderful new choices. Love them!
This is my first glimpse at your beach oasis. Everything is beautiful right down to the last detail. It is the little things that catch my attention and the threshold made from leftover tiles is stunning! It has me wondering why we don’t do more with thresholds in our home? They are like a little introduction into the next room. Imagine my surprise as I was oohing and awwing at your photos to see my book peeping out of the book basket in the nursery. Such an honor to be a part of your beautiful home!
I just love your Jubilee book, doesn’t it look just perfect here 🙂 I love what you said about the thresholds~thanks so much Karyn~
How exciting, Jenna! I’ve been wondering how things were going. Your new space looks beautiful!! You are right – the sink and waterfall faucet are totally YOU. 🙂 I love the tile, too. You’ve created a fantastic space. CC’s room has so many future possibilities. 🙂 Enjoy!
Love this! We are planning a bathroom remodel, and there are so many wonderful ideas here.
Oh wow…wow…and more wow. I love that gorgeous tile on your wall – the texture, the colors, and it’s uniqueness. The glass sink and waterfall faucet are stunning as well. I’m visiting from the Metamorphosis Monday Party.
Wow, it looks so so fabulous! I’m so glad that 4 months of waiting turned out to be so beautiful for you 🙂 Awesome addition!
OK I’m so jealous!! Gorgeous home and love the bath!! The wall and glass sink are fab!
*hugs*deb
That tile is fantastic and the sink to die for! You guys did a great job – Congrats!
Oh, Jenna – this is fantastic! That tile, sink and faucet are all “show stoppers”! I know you are so happy that it is finished!!
Thanks so much Diane!

Oh Jenna!!! It looks WONDERFUL!! Yay! So very excited for you all 🙂
Jessica
Wow what an impressive job! I love the tile on the bathroom wall and the sink- too fun! I like how you transitioned the space between two tiles- great idea! I really like how fresh and colorful your place is- perfect!
Hip, hip, hooray for you!!!!! this is beautiful! Such an economic use of space! If you’re not using that little piece of porch, it makes sense that you would turn it into something utilitarian!
I DIDN’T know that setting tile on the diagonal gives the visual appearance of a larger space! I will keep that in mind for the next tile job around here!
The sink faucet is SO COOL!!! I’d be in there washing my hands 100 times a day just for the heck of it!
Congratulations on a job DONE and WELL DONE!!!
Thanks Alycia, we are really enjoying it!
It turned out PERFECT! I love your beach house addition — especially the tile and cool sink faucet!!! XO, Aimee
Thank you Aimee!
