Holidays, Red White and Sea Blue

Red, white and sea blue?

HH & I love to have a little down time before and after the big holiday weekends and we have been enjoying a few days alone on the coast

One of our favorite meals is crab legs and corn on the cob, so easy to prepare and so delicious to eat

It’s very windy tonight so we’ll be dining inside

There is a raised top at the end of the island that makes a perfect little table for 2~

HH brought home some roses from the grocery store [he is incredibly sweet] and I immediately knew where they were going

One of my friends surprised me with this boat recently [she is incredibly sweet too].  It is actually a planter, but I doubt I will ever use it for that…it is too much fun to fill with other things!

I stuffed it full of towels so I wouldn’t need a truckload of rocks and just added them on top around the plastic cups

Some blue umbrellas for fun and to further cover the cups

And American flags of course to honor our troops and salute the Holiday!

Hooray for the red white and [sea] blue!

What a beautiful arrangement! Anchors aweigh!

  3. You are so creative! I wish I knew where my rocks are. I can never find my stuff that I know I have Somewhere… Anywho — this looks so cute! Points for HH.

Memorial Day we will be passing through Birmingham on our way to Blackberry Farm. Wonder if their table will be as clever as yours. I made a guess you’d be at the coast otherwise I’d have made effort to get together.

    • Oh I am so disappointed to miss the chance to see you! I can’t wait to hear about your stay at Blackberry Farm, the closest I have gotten to BF is one of their cookbooks! I know you especially will appreciate all of their fine cooking and ingredients since you’ve taken culinary classes all over the world~

How cute is thata! Love the way you decorated the boat. That’s so sweet that hubby brought home red roses- I love sweet gestures like that! The patriotic stemware is cute too and the menu plan sounds yummy! Have a great weekend and Memorial Day!

Jenna, you have set a wonderful Memorial Day table! I am always amazed that you can manage to do that, while you are on vacation. I am in Florida, too, but I never seem to get a tablescape done here. Very impressed and I love that boat!!

  7. Happier Than A Pig In Mud says:

Very cute! The flags really are a nice finishing touch to the arrangement! Enjoy your long weekend Jenna:@)

Your centerpiece floats my boat Jenna! I can see you using that lots of different ways! I’d fall over in a dead faint if my hubby brought home flowers from the grocery store 🙂 Hope you have smooth sailing for Memorial Day weekend!

  9. Bev says:

Your centerpiece is divine and I especially love the stemware. Score!

  10. Please, please, please have your husband get in touch with mine about how to make his wife happy by occasionally surprising her with flowers! I don’t think Ramon has EVER done that in our 23 years together. He has surprised me with a bread maker, a vacuum. a new car (for HIM, not me!)…all kinds of crazy things, but never flowers! 🙁 (I used to be always knee-deep in flowers when I owned my shop, so maybe that’s why in the earlier years. No excuse for the last 5 or 6, though!)

It’s so nice that you can enjoy fresh seafood like that!!! And I love that red fish platter!!!

  11. What a fun centerpiece! Thank you for sharing! You are one of the features today at the Anything Blue Friday party at The Dedicated House. Here is the link to this week’s party. http://www.thededicatedhouse.com/2014/06/anything-blue-friday-week-60.html Hope to see you again at the little blue soiree. Toodles, Kathryn @TheDedicatedHouse
