Creations, Chippy Shell Side Table

I have had this table forever, it’s tired and the paint is flaking off…I know chippy is trendy but this table looked bad~
I decided to try a little chalk paint on it to spiff it up, Annie Sloan Florence
This whole project took maybe 30 minutes
I LOVE projects that don’t drag about
I used a fairly dry brush to add a layer of color to the top
A couple of places got too much paint so I just went back over them with some Annie Sloan Old White
I wasn’t too concerned about the top because I was going to use a tray on it
I heated up my glue gun and got out some bling
I started in the middle with a sand dollar and just built out both sides
Sea shells, sea glass and glass beads, all the things I used on my Beachy Bench
I just did the one end because of where this sits in the room
One side is against the couch and the other is in a high traffic area
So I just dressed up the front a little and topped it with a tray for stability and ease of use
Now it looks loved and chic, not shabby and sad 🙂
I just love 30 minute projects!

I love it! I have 2 small end tables and a chest/coffee table in white wicker and have been looking for ideas to do something different with them. I’m re-doing in a nautical theme but with red and navy colors so your idea gives me lots to think about. Thank you!
You are so welcome, have fun!
Another nifty idea, Jenna! Looks great!
This looks so original! and functional and fun.
So creative Jenna! I love the aqua color and your addition of shells and glass! The Annie Sloan dealer I bought my paint from doesn’t have those little sample pots, what a fun way to experiment with a color without the investment.
Loved and chic trumps shabby and sad every time! Well done! Still…30 minutes is too long. I am just a lazy ol’ thing!
No you’re not! Anyone who sets such detailed and beautiful tables is not a lazy ol’ thing!
How fun! I love the tray on top, too. Great look, Jenna!
What a beautiful, one-of-a-kind piece of furniture! Love how you transformed it and gave it new life! Thanks for sharing at my Creative Ways Link Party! I hope you’ll be back tonight with more great posts!
Blessings,
Nici
