Creations, Quick Color Fix

Have you ever found “the perfect accessory” only it’s not the right color?
DD and I are working on Baby Boy’s room right now, he’s due in 7 weeks!
CC is on hand for assistance, she is currently checking out the new crib for stability
The color scheme is blue, white and gray, and the theme is nautical
I painted the yellowish anchor Annie Sloan Napoleonic Blue, and the sides of it got a coat of Annie Sloan Old White to match the night table we’re working on
I knew it would be tricky to paint an even white line around the edge for a highlight, so I opted to make a dotted line, much easier to control and doesn’t have to be perfect to look smashing!
Stayed tuned, I will post the nursery and the artwork I am painting for the room when it’s had the final touches
It is going to be adorable!
Juicy Details
Paint even dots with the handle tip end of your paint brush, dipping it in paint and then placing one dab of paint straight down on the surface where dot is desired. Clean the paint off the handle every so often, to keep paint from building up, so your dots remain even
you can see CC’s pink, white and gray nursery at Nursery Ideas here and her newly painted dresser here

Looks like your assistant is hard at work:@) Have fun!
Anchors Aweigh Jenna! I’ve always thought a nautical themed nursery or toddler’s room would be so cute for a boy 🙂 Love your dotted outline!
Love your nautical theme and the anchor is adorable for the nursery. Great colors too. Cant’ wait to see the nursery finished. What a fun project………….
Thanks Emily! It’s hard being a decorator for your daughter, she is a brutal task master!
It turned out so beautifully! We just did that at my friend’s condo. She had an entry table and a pretty beat up coffee table in pine and we painted them black. Now the coffee table isn’t beat up anymore! I suggested a glass top for both as they rent it out, but I told her a little paint will cover anything up if she doesn’t get the glass in time. Renters are brutal!
What a fun color scheme she chose. How fun!
Love it…the anchor looks fantastic, Jenna! Love your little helper.
How perfect is a nautical theme for a boy’s nursery and with your energy and talent I know the room will be a great one for him to grow up in. The anchor is a real winner. In fact, I’m thinking the hubby would like one!
This is going to be such a great nursery. Love the way you painted the anchor.
Yes, never underestimate the power of paint! Great job! I am always picking up stuff from thrift stores and making it beautiful with paint. Great minds think alike! Have a great weekend!
Congratulations! How exciting, Jenna. I love the anchor. The nautical theme will be wonderful for a little boy – especially given his grandparents. 😉
thanks Kim, we are so excited! My daughter is so lucky to have a girl and a boy~
So glad to see your awesome anchor. Been wanting to have one when I have my beachy theme in summer in living room. How happy you must be expecting a baby boy. His big sister will be a good helper. Such a cute photo of her checking out his crib. Is that same crib she was in as a baby?
My anchor will be aqua as we have different shades of aqua in l/r besides coral and light gray. Big sisters room is very nice also, that is if that’s her room in other photo. The dresser is very nice in gray and white. You did great job.
Love your bird and nest on table, really cute decoration.
Enjoy your new baby when he comes. Nothing as special as having a new baby in house. All our kids are done with having kids doggone it, wanted couple more to spoil.
Happy life. Pinning your anchor
