Creations, Worn Wicker Fix

Do you have any worn out wicker?

This chair has passed the “chippy vintage shabby chic” phase and has been littering all over the porch

I removed the loose pieces and secured the ends with glue to prevent further unraveling

My original thought was to wrap the legs in a small diameter rope or cord, but realized that would attract mold

Paint was a simple and easy solution

The other chair was fine but I wanted them to match, so I painted it’s legs too

I wish I had 2 of these fish pillows!

The chairs kinda look like they have socks on, which bothered me, hmmm….

Stripes!

What do you think, pillows or no pillows?

  1. Pillows!

  2. Emily says:

I like the stripes better too. Neat repair and I like the chairs without the pillow, it shows more of the pretty wicker.

  3. Rhonda says:

Great idea! I love the stripes the best, too! Looks just like they were meant to be that way! I have a table that has ratty legs in storage. Need to drag it out and use your technique! 🙂 ~Rhonda

  4. Clever fix, and I love the color scheme! I’m a pillow freak, so I vote for pillows. So colorful and inviting.

  5. Jenna, what a great idea…striped legs! I vote pillows! Happy Wednesday!

  6. Janet Lynn says:

    Pillows!

  7. I wish I would of seen this BEFORE, I threw my old wicker away…smile. CUTE!

  8. tarahlynn says:

These are so cute! They look brand new, great solution. I just painted out some of our wicker too, its amazing what paint can do 🙂

  9. Mary says:

I love your painted striped socks on your chairs Jenna and that cute turquoise cooler too!! I think you should paint a matching fish pillow 🙂

  10. Pillows for my back. A person can always remove the pillow if it not comfortable. Cute idea.

  11. Rosie M. says:

Hi, Jenna! Great Fix!! I vote for pillows. They complete the look and are so comfortable for lounging. Rosie

  12. Stacey says:

That’s so darn cute!! Why do those legs always come unwound? We have one like that too.

Your solution is adorable. I vote for pillows.

Happy Thoughts of Home and have a wonderful weekend.
