Not much time for painting, but I did manage a quick rose

I found a photo, enlarged it and printed it out for reference

Slowly building up the colors with layer upon layer, starting with the lightest areas first and gradually adding more darks

Be sure to let the layers dry before adding more paint unless you want them to bleed into each other

The white paper was left untouched in the highlight areas-

I hope your summer isย  coming up roses!

Working fast and loose can produce some great results…

Be Fearless!

  4. Love your rose. Great idea to enlarge a photo and then paint it. There’s something I’d like my daughter to paint so I’ll pass this tip along to her.

Looks like a great fourth for you! Cute kids. We were home alone( kids too far away)but did celebrate with friends.

I would say that rose was very much an accomplishment over the 4th weekend, especially since you had your hands full with those little “firecrackers” and I don’t mean the ones that pop! I had my hands full with just one and he wore me out!
Hope you have a restful weekend, those are my plans, LOLโ€ฆโ€ฆ…
