Fearless Friday, Strawberries!

Let’s paint some strawberries today
The inspiration photo is on the left and the same photo with the Waterlogue Illustration effect right
no sketch first, I wanted to work fast and loose
light shapes from back to front, leaving the highlight areas white
a few more berries
Time for the green tops
Adding darks and tops help define the berries
Laying in the background
Deepening the reds and greens
You can also add details with ink, I actually did the lines below with Picmonkey draw effect
Which one do you like better?
Strawberries!
Here’s some unique strawberry recipes 🍓
Strawberry Waffle Parfait Bites
Strawberry Topped Bacon Jam & Pimiento Cheese Crostini
Enjoy!

Beautiful, my talented friend! Those strawberry foods are works of art, too… yum! 🙂 ~Rhonda
Jenna, your strawberries are so lifelike I feel like I could reach into the computer to fetch one to eat! I like the painting without the lines added. I also love the Waterlogue app, such fun. I would love to see any of these delicious dishes on my breakfast plate this morning………
Keep cool, we are going to have a hot weekend!
Thx Emily, I like it better without the lines too, I’m glad I added them virtually rather than with real ink 🙂 Yes the weekend sounds brutal 🔥 >
absolutely STUNNING strawberries Jenna! LOVE them! and THANK YOU for showing the steps on what appears to be complicated to me! Appreciate your thoughtfulness and BEAUTY shared!
I had no idea that you paint the background later. The steps you take are genius! I must take a painting class someday!
I like the defined one best and I’ll have one of each of those delectable strawberry offerings! Love seeing your process jenna.
Jenna, thanks for such beauty! I like it without the lines! I could enjoy any of the strawberry offerings right now! Happy Weekend
Gorgeous Jenna! I hope you’re planning on framing some of your fruit and veggie watercolors to hang in your kitchen! I can’t decide which I like better. Hope you’re staying cool this weekend, it’s too hot to boat here. 🙂
Beautiful strawberries! You have such an eye. I’m lost from the start, but you always bring things into perfect view after adding the finishing details. I think it’s a brain thing, and my brain doesn’t work that way. If I had the time, surely my brain could be trained. (Wouldn’t Painter Artist Mom love that!?) Your strawberry recipes look divine! 🙂
Yes, you should get PAM to give you some lessons! It’s really just a matter of learning to see things a different way, and to be fearless of course 🙂 >
Lovely! What a great step by step tutorial.
Thank you! >
I really want to try painting someday! You have such a talent!
