Tablescapes, Ghosts of Pirates Past

Aarrghhhhhh!
Ahoy Mateys!
Well, shiver me timbers and rattle me bones
Welcome me hearties, and make ye at home!
I’m entertaining ghosts of me pirate friends past
Their Ghost Ship got lost in the fog,
But they’re here at long last
I’m studying old maps that we took to the sea
When we found gold doubloons and other vast bounty
Grab ye a tankard and I’ll pour ye some rum
I started before ye, I’m somewhat of a bum
The drink of the day is called a Bumboo {a Rum Coffee Cake Cocktail it’s known as too}
Ye will be surely staggering, after swilling a few
It’s how I got me peg leg, I tripped on the dock,
but keep it mum Matey, story goes, it was bit off by a crock!
No trespassing allowed or ye will be walking the plank
It’s right over there where Blackbeard’s ship sank
Now don’t be a scallywag, go swab the deck
Me scurvy’s actin up, I’m feeling like heck
Even Polly is only a shell of herself,
Can ye spare a mere morsel to bring her to health?
You bone shiverin’ landlubbers shouldn’t have fear
Ghosts of the past will make you a real buccaneer
Blimey! Don’t be tellin’ my secrets or sins from ago
I’ll give you a flogging and then a heave ho!
Me day’s almost done, the sun’s going down
I look better at night, ye can’t see my frown
Just a bony ole soul with ghastly ghosts hanging ’round
Time to study more maps
and seek out more treasure
Thanks for stopping by
It’s been a frightening pleasure!

Oh my gosh, Jenna, this is the BEST Halloween table and tale I’ve ever read! Your pirate skeleton looks way more expensive than he was, and his accessories, along with his words (“I started before ye, I’m somewhat of a bum” – laughed out loud, but they only got even better!). So many details, so much imagination…..arrrgh, so good! Bravo!
Thank you Rita, I had a lot of fun with this-I normally don’t go for the creepy stuff, but once I saw that skeleton, I just couldn’t resist…
Sooo fun!!!
Very cute! Your Skellie looks like he’s had a hard life, and I love the cute ghost candy dish:@)
This is just so creative! What fun!
Thanks Carole! >
Wherever did you find that skeleton bird? Perfect addition to the setting. I had to come back and see it again, so fun!
Thanks Carole! the bird is part of the pirate skeleton! When I saw this crazy skeleton I just couldn’t believe the price, it’s really well made, and it came fully put together with eye patch and red sash and is poseable- my grandsons are going to have a ball playing with it- >
Well, I see now why the rum is gone! LOL. Jack Sparrow would be pleased!
This is your cutest post ever! I don’t know how you do it!
Thanks Ellen, the pirate inspired me 🙂 >
Did somebody say Rum?
Your table is so flipping cute I can’t stand it! I have to go back up and look at it again. Great job!
I can’t get enough of your decor. This is great! Thanks for sharing.

Yarr! I laughed out loud Jenna and I’m lovin’ yer skeleton and ghostly crew, Polly cracks me up! What a bargain, I wouldn’t have been able to resist bringing them home either! Looking forward to your Halloween link party 🙂
This is amazing! Who could possibly be lucky enough to have that gorgeous sailing ship in the background. I was so entertained seeing your wonderful display. Loving all your details. The maps are a great touch! I love pirate themes! Yours did not disappoint.
Thanks Valerie! >
what a perfect setting for Florida!!! OMG where do you think that stuff up?? The chandelier with the ghosts is a MUST have for me now and the drunken skeleton in the chair…PRICELESS
ha! thanks Christine! >
I’m always smitten with your jingles, Jenna, and this one was so fun! I love the whole tablescape, and especially the chandelier. Your grands must love coming to your house! As for me, I don’t’ want to heave ho, so I won’t be telling any secrets or sins.
Jenna, you amaze me with your talent and creativity! This post is so much fun, so sad I can’t participate in the party!
Me too, but I can’t wait to hear about your trip! >
Oh my gosh the parrot on the shoulder is just too much! I love this and so happy that you continue to share with us each week at Celebrate Your Story.
I know, I was really creeped out when I was sitting him in the chair, yikes! >
This is so cute! Love that little boat with the ghosts! This is so creative and fun. That skeleton with the hook is awesome!

sooo cool! Love the lifesize skeleton. I want one now!!! ha ha
Thanks Sheila, I usually stay away from the creepy side of Halloween, but I just couldn’t resist him! >
Shiver me timbers, this was a clever table, and an even more clever poem! Love, love, love!!! You did better than I did – my Pirate Skeleton from Costco was $39!!! He is outside riding a bike. I love your ghosts and your pirate map. Everything is adorably clever!
Never ever a dull moment with you! What Fun!
Thanks Linda! >

Thanks Michelle!
This is incredible! I love it all. What a spectacular Halloween tablescape. Pinning. Thanks for linking up at the Happy Halloween Party.
Hi Jenna, I’ve been reading all of your beach theme posts and all are well done. Love the decorated shell forks, I think I will have to make them to go with my shell chargers also. I have to admit this is REALLY over the top and I’m not into Halloween. The pirate is too cute, along with the parrot skeleton-lol! Love his swash-buckling red sash!! What a great touch! The maps are awesome. Am pinning!
Thanks Cynthia, I love Halloween but mostly just the cutesy stuff. When I saw that pirate at Costco last year for some reason I just had to have it…and already have plans for him this fall 🙂 Thanks so much for reading and all the sweet comments! >
