Remember this blank canvas
and this paint
It finally came together
I did the gray underpainting with Annie Sloan Paris Gray chalk paint
Then vertical strokes and a horizontal band at the bottom with Behr flat white wall paint
More vertical strokes with Devine Colors Twig acrylic paint from Target
I used Golden acrylics for the brushed gold band and squeeze bottle Golden gold and silver for the accent stripes
I laid the canvas on a flat surface while drying to prevent further dripping
After drying for 48 hours, I applied 2 coats of clear varnish
I had fun styling it in my dining room
I did a mock up with PicMonkey to show how it’s going to look in DD’s house
Her request was for a plain, as in “not busy,” mostly white painting. I used gold & silver accents to coordinate with her gray and white decor and the paintings nearby
Breaking Waves is visible in the hall
Falling Gold is visible just around the corner in the dining room
I hope she likes it!

I love these tutorials Jenna! I am hoping to get back to my paints in a few more weeks. I have missed it and love this series of soft colors you have done. Breaking waves is my favorite but this latest reminds me of winter birches in Canada and I quite like it too.
This looks just terrific. The tutorial facts are really helpful. I always feel a little out of my element with abstracts and somehow you really do help me get out of my comfort zone — for which I thank you!

My talented friend! Abstracts are interesting, not something I can do, so I love it when I see one that is appealing.
