Fearless Friday, Calm, Cool, & Collected

Remember this blank canvas
and this paint
It finally came together
I did the gray underpainting with Annie Sloan Paris Gray chalk paint
Then vertical strokes and a horizontal band at the bottom with Behr flat white wall paint
More vertical strokes with Devine Colors Twig acrylic paint from Target
I used Golden acrylics for the brushed gold band and squeeze bottle Golden gold and silver for the accent stripes
I laid the canvas on a flat surface while drying to prevent further dripping
After drying for 48 hours, I applied 2 coats of clear varnish
I had fun styling it in my dining room
I did a mock up with PicMonkey to show how it’s going to look in DD’s house
Her request was for a plain, as in “not busy,” mostly white painting. I used gold & silver accents to coordinate with her gray and white decor and the paintings nearby
Breaking Waves is visible in the hall
Falling Gold is visible just around the corner in the dining room
I hope she likes it!
Be Fearless!

I have a feeling she will LOVE it! Beautiful Jenna!!!!
I love these tutorials Jenna! I am hoping to get back to my paints in a few more weeks. I have missed it and love this series of soft colors you have done. Breaking waves is my favorite but this latest reminds me of winter birches in Canada and I quite like it too.
This looks just terrific. The tutorial facts are really helpful. I always feel a little out of my element with abstracts and somehow you really do help me get out of my comfort zone — for which I thank you!
Thanks Jeanie, it really helps to get inspiration from other artists doesn’t it- >
I feel like dressing up like Audrey Hepburn and standing in front of it, taking in the classy feel.
thank you Leslie Anne, I shall now refer to this painting as part of my Hepburn phase… >
My talented friend! Abstracts are interesting, not something I can do, so I love it when I see one that is appealing.
thank you Ellen, I do like abstracts but not violent ones that take over the space…if my daughter doesn’t like this, I have several spots in my house I could hang it 🙂 >
Envy your talent…beautiful. I’m going to lay my brush down stick to what I know how to do and enjoy the beauty you create. 🙂 🙂
Thank you Linda, just FYI, I can’t sew a stitch 🙂 >
The painting looks lovely on her wall. You have a great eye for what fits the style and decor.
Thank you Lynn! >
Jenna, I’m sure your daughter will love her painting! I love the texture from the dripping paint and accent stripes 🙂
She will be delighted! The soft colors are just gorgeous.
Jenna, I know your daughter will love this painting that you have created just for her…what a precious treasure to give her! Happy weekend!
You are so sweet Pam, she’s hard to please so I’m nervous, but I already have a spot in my house if it’s rejected!

It’s really beautiful. Thank you for walking us through your process and materials. It’s so great to hear about and see your vision come to fruition!
Thanks Hope, we artists need each other! >
Your painting is lovely…thank you for the tutorial. I always wanted to paint something myself but since stick figures are about as artistic as I am nothing ever came of it. You have given me new inspiration! I would love for you to share your projects with us at the Friday Favorites Link Party http://lightandsavvy.com. Hugs- Christine
Thanks Christine! I will check it out-
What a lovely painting. I need to do a lot of practice before I can create something so lovely! Thank you for sharing at Celebrate Your Story!
