Creations, CC’s Dollhouse

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday!
Thank you so much for your visits, friendship and comments and letting me share
my sometimes wacky world with you
One of the highlights of our holiday was passing down my daughter’s dollhouse
to my granddaughter
This dollhouse was found at an estate sale by HH’s mother who lovingly fixed it up
and furnished it for my daughter years ago
Most of the furnishings are long gone, but I did manage to save the dollhouse over the years
With a few nails, a little glue and paint, it was ready for a new family
Old floral wallpaper, eyelet curtains and red “velvet” stairs called for a little redecorating
I painted one of the upstairs rooms “little girl” pink
A sponge cut into a square stamp added faux wallpaper and faux floor tiles
Do you see the toilet paper holder on the wall? How cute is that!!
It is original to the house as is the framed artwork on the walls
I decorated this space to be the bathroom and baby’s room
The heart was part of a piece of old jewelry
I found these wonderful wooden furnishings on Amazon, details and links are at the end of the post
The brand is Hape Family {get it? Hap E, happy!}, and it’s really well made
It’s very kid friendly, doors and drawers open and it comes with cushions etc.
There is even a little rubber ducky in the bathroom set!
I left the wallpaper in the master bedroom and added a burlap rug to go with the felt rug that came with the set
The stairs were covered in a red cloth like material that I painted gray and covered with small rectangular glass tiles
It was a challenge getting into all these little spaces!
I painted over the wallpaper in the main room and painted “stones” on the hearth
A faux fire was painted in the fireplace
A mini canvas got some bright flowers
With edges painted just like on my large paintings
I used sticky dots to secure things to the wall
Dad and sister are lounging in the family room
He’s trying out all the chairs
Mom is busy in the kitchen
The baby plays with a gym on a floor mat while mom cooks
The mop in the corner and the china hutch are part of the few original pieces that were saved
I gave the exterior of the house a coat of fresh white and painted the shutters gray
The windows have the original painted curtains
This adorable Family Pet set came with a dog, rabbit and cat, each with their own abode, bowl and food
After painting the original green roof gray,
I added shingles using a square brush and a mix of black, white, and gray
I didn’t have much time to work on it, and it was a monster living in my kitchen since it was too cold to do it outside or in the garage, but CC & I can remodel it over time as she grows up
I gave her all the furnishings in their original boxes so she could look at the pictures
She went right to work moving in!
She even got some help from her cousin
She was a very Hap E little girl!
Thanks for taking the tour!

Jenna, that is absolutely adorable…I can just imagine CC’’s eyes when she saw it! What a labor of love that will bring years of enjoyment to your precious grand!
Thank you Pam, she was so excited!
That’s so cool! …I want one:@) Love the painted curtains and that dog is hilarious-have fun!
I hope she has as much fun as I did!
This brings back great memories of my doll house …. I played with it for hours and I am sure she will, too….what a great gift!
Thanks Patti, every little girl needs a doll house…
Wow! You DID get it done before Christmas! It’s amazing, and will be the center of many, many hours of play, I’m sure. What fun.
I wish I hadn’t had to rush it, and there were things I could have done better, but all in all I was happy with it and she loved it. We can always redecorate as she gets older!
Such a treasured gift to pass down to CC. Extra special touches by you make it so pretty and show how much love lives in this dollhouse! ❤️❤️
Oh, how sweet, thank you!
What a marvelous project!! So many wonderful details, especially your artwork over the fireplace, so tiny!
Thanks Carol, her Daddy thought the mini painting over the fireplace was the best part, which made my heart sing…
Very clever and loads of fun! I just love it that you included one of your own paintings for over the fireplace. Very bright and pretty — and I hope it makes it to the next generation!
Thank you Jeanie, I had so much fun, I hope she enjoys it for years!
These are the gifts that Christmas memories are made of Jenna! Just wonderful!

Thank you Johanne~
Oh, my, Jenna, this dollhouse is what little girls’ dreams are made of! I had one about that size with wooden furniture and I still remember my delight seeing it under the tree when Christmas came (and that was 65 years ago when I was a little girl!) This was a true labor of love for you and your precious granddaughter will never forget it!

Oh I hope so Rosie, thank you! and Happy New Year, I hope yours is full of health and love!
Oh Jenna!!!! Amazing! Every little detail! What a beautiful gift! LOVE!!! <3
It was so much fun Jodi! I see one in your future!
I’m thinking that toooooo….. <3
How fun, dollhouses are wonderous places.
Thank you Sharon, great for the imagination!
Great mini house tour. Boy this post brought back many memories. My doll house was metal. It always bothered me that I had a two story house with NO stairway. You did a GREAT job remodeling this for your grand daughter. She’s very lucky.
ha ha, trying to fix up the stairway was a challenge! Thank you Sandy
Love all your details and the LOVE you put into this little doll house! ❤️ I was always facinated with doll houses and all the imagination that goes into one! I had a Barbie house that brought hours of fun. I’m sure your granddaughter will enjoy your gift for years!! 😊
Thank you Jill, I love that it’s old fashioned and simple…
Oh this is so inspiring. My daughter’s huge Barbie house is up in my playroom and so much is missing, but I could add to like you have. Of course my favorite parts are your paintings, the fire, and all of the fun things you did with paint.
I just adore the toilet paper holder and the broom. However did those survive?
Ha, I have no idea where most of the things went, but I certainly had a ball fixing it up!
That Dollhouse does look like quite the project, but also like a fun one! It looks like CC loves it too. I think you did a great job with it! Here’s to many years of play!
Thanks Hope, I hope she has as much fun as I did!
SO adorable Jenna… I was waiting for your dollhouse transformation! Many Hap E memories and hours of fun will be created there by CC I’m sure! I can only imagine how tedious it must of been trying to paint inside those little cubbies. I love all your artistic touches and she will love lending a helping had to redecorate over time, especially since she’s a budding artist too. ♥
Thank you Mary, it was hard painting those inside places! Yes, next time she can paint it herself!
I love your dollhouse remodel. My grandmother bought me a dollhouse that looked very similar to yours and your post brought back some lovely childhood memories.
It really got me that she was so thrilled with it, so sweet! Every little girl should have a doll house!
What a sweet and thoughtful gift! You did a great job redecorating the dollhouse. I love how you “tiled” the bathroom floor! I hope you have a great week, and Roll Tide Roll!
It was so much fun, I wish I had had weeks instead of days to work on it!
How adorable! I’ve always loved dollhouses. You did such a great job in every sweet detail!
Happy New Year!
ADORABLE! And she has her own original painting over her fireplace from her grandmother!
Such a labor of love or should I say fun time for you!
Thank you Bonnie, it was so much fun!
I am absolutely in awe of this!
I love doll houses and miniatures! But my kids just didn’t love them like I did so ours are gone.
Love how you updated it.

Great job Jenna. I love following your stuff. Wish I had your artistic ability. I’m Jan Dalbey, the one who used to hZve the Etsy shop ” Mimi’s Corner”. We are still living at Eden in Perdido Key. I think about you often as I pass Ono Island. My kids livedythe collegiate bowls that you painted for them. If you are at the beach, it would be fun to meet for lunch. Jan. 225-892-6841.
hi Jan, great to hear from you! I was wondering if you were still at Eden!
How cool! My kids never got into doll houses. I remember when I was little, my mom helped us build a doll house straight into the closet we kept our toys in, that way it was always easy to put it away! It wasn’t an actual house, but a few shelves we added walls and decor to. Thanks for sharing at #HomeMattersParty
What a great idea, you had a smart mom! Thanks Emily
