Gifts from the Kitchen, Gift Ideas for the grilling Valentine

Need a gift for your grilling Valentine?
How about a manly burger cookbook and some things to spice them up!
I learned about this book from my friend Pattie @Olla-Podrida, she is always cooking up wonderful food
When she talked about these Fifth Dimension Burgers back in the fall, it was only minutes until I had the cookbook and needed ingredients in my Amazon cart
I gave them to HH for Christmas, and let me say
that these might be the best burgers we’ve ever had!
The flavor is not recognizable as a specific flavor,
it’s Umami, that not definable, something something, that just makes it taste so good!!
He also got a griddle pan for the grill and let me highly suggest you get one
HHjr has one too, and you’ve never had better burgers, the outside of the patty gets a nice char, keeping the flavors and the juices inside
The first time we made these I insisted on having my burger naked
I wanted to see if I could taste the flavor of the seasonings
The seasoning just seems to enhance the whole experience in a subtle way,
so go ahead and top your burger with your favorite toppings, for an extra tasty burger
I realize that it’s not grilling season in a lot of the country,
but you can cook these on an indoor griddle or in a cast iron pan
I have been researching how to use these various powders
Spice Jungle is a wonderful source for unique ingredients, with free shipping standard every day
The Worcestershire Sauce Powder can be added to anything you would use the liquid for, soups, stews marinades, reconstituted with water for a liquid version, or used as part of a flavorful dry rub on meats
See the website here for more products and recipes
Hoosier Hill Farm has just about anything you can think of in powder form
Even cream cheese and buttermilk!!
Handy!
Tomato powder is supposed to enhance any tomato based recipe,
you can even sprinkle it on fresh tomatoes to improve their flavor!
See more tips on tomato powder here
I am planning to update my spice game in 2018 after reading about and trying these products!

5th Dimension Burger Seasoning
Ingredients
- 6 T Porcini Mushroom Powder
- 2 T Portabella Mushroom Powder
- 2 T Worcestershire Sauce Powder
- 2 T Onion Powder
- 2 T Garlic Powder
Instructions
- Mix everything together in a small jar. Use 1 T per 1/4 lb of hamburger meat. Gently mix it into meat and form into patties. Do not overwork mixing or burgers will be tough. Use your thumb to make a small indentation in center of patties for even cooking.
- Will keep for up to 6 months
Here is another recipe for tasty burgers, Umami Burgers
Don’t forget the wood chips!

[…] would make a great gift for your Grilling Valentine […]
Worcestershire Sauce is my favorite condiment. Those burgers are mouthwatering! Have a delightful day, dear Jenna.
Mine too, thank you Katie!
such a great burger post! We just had burgers the other night – on the grill – love smelling the grill when it is snowing and 10 degrees out! Such a treat. These powdered spices do sound interesting.
I’m so glad you aren’t afraid to grill in the winter! We grill all year round, but usually rain is the challenge, not snow!!
Heck no! Sometimes it is the best grilled food! 🙂
Jenna, we love a great burger and we claim that Butch’s are the best! I know what I will be buying him for Valentine’s. Thank you for the tips!
You must share his secret!
Good looking burger, now I’m hungry!
Is there anything better than a good burger?
How interesting! I have never heard of powdered “Wishyoucouldsayit” as I often call the sauce, which I love. 😉 And I love the new-to-me concept for so many of these spices (and the term umami). I also love any tried and true recipe. This is a great gift idea. Thanks for sharing, Jenna!
Thanks Rita, I can’t wait to experiment with these things. “Wishyoucouldsayit” sauce is one of my go to favorites, it makes everything better!
Good ideas and even better paintings! That cheeseburger is just dripping off the page!
🙂 thanks Jeanie!
Great ideas and Yum in the Tum!
Thanks Nancy, I can’t wait to try some of the other recipes in the book, and discover new ways to use the powders
I’ll be watching if you post anything! Have fun!
Wish I had a big ole burger right now! I’d like to play with some smoking chips this year on the grill:@)
Jenna, You have my salivating over a burger this morning! Thanks for sharing the book, it looks like one my hubby would love!
I am totally starving now from looking at your photos. Pinned and shared.
Oh my gosh…I want a burger! I never knew that you could buy so much in powdered form. I’m thinking that I need that book. I’ve always been the griller in the family, even when my late beloved was alive. Wouldn’t jars of the seasoning mix make for nice gifts?? Thanks for sharing, Jenna! xx
Yes they would!!! I can’t wait to experiment more with these dry ingredients, thanks Kitty!
What great burger makings and the burger looks delicious, I must have some of these powders! Hope you are having a great day and thanks so much for sharing with us at Full Plate Thursday and come back to see us real soon!
Miz Helen
Aren’t the powders amazing? I can’t wait to experiment more, thanks Miz Helen!
Hi Jenna! Some excellent ideas for hubby! Since we started using a Traeger last year, I have been having fun trying some different spices made by them. I really love their vegetable seasoning – you can get it on Amazon. It makes roasted asparagus taste heavenly. I will check out the Spice Jungle – thanks for the tip! 🙂
My husband and son are interested in a Traeger, I would love to hear more about it. I will try the vegetable seasoning, we love grilled asparagus! Thanks Jill
Hi Jenna, you would probably enjoy a Traeger too as you can cook anything on it, including cookies and casseroles! I like that it is easy. Cooking low and slow really gives the food great flavor too. My hubby loves it so much that he bought one for the lake also. 😊
