Tablescapes, Winter Grapefruit

After being housebound for a week with a bad cold I ventured out to Target to pick up a few things
I was greeted at the door with an entire display of beautiful grapefruit colored blooms
I stopped and looked but then walked away to do my shopping
But I kept thinking about how bright and pretty they were…
I just couldn’t resist, and picked up a bunch to bring home
Which of course led to “hmmm, where should I put them…”
And all of a sudden I was shopping the house and creating a tablescape
The foyer is centrally located and visible from many rooms, and this table has brightened the whole house
We have had a very rainy December and January, day after day of dreary cold rain, and this bright table has brought back the sunshine
Yesterday, I put away the dreary dark winter things
And now I’m going bright and thinking Spring!!

Jenna, I love your happy and colorful tablescape in your entry! The grapefruit colored blooms were the perfect inspiration for your setting. The painted stems, the plate stack, and the runner takes my mind away from our gloomy weather. I am glad you are feeling better. I came down with a cold on a Thursday and have been in for the past three days. I love your happy table!
Uh oh, take care Pam! This dreary weather is getting to me, I’ve got to keep bright things going on inside!
It is fun to shop our own homes for existing things to use in a new way! I wouldn’t have thought of grapefruit with that peachy color.
Thank you Carole, yes it’s such fun to shop our homes!
Love the color of the flowers. They really brighten up the room.
Thanks Anita~
Gorgeous flowers and I think grapefruit is one of the perkiest fragrances-enjoy:@)
Love to eat grapefruit!
Well, obviously, those flowers were meant for you to bring home! You had everything you needed to complete that happy tablescape and turn up the color in the house! I love those colors!
Thank you Rita, I really struggle in January, this bright scene has really helped!!
Always in love with your exaordinary use of colors ❤
Oh thank you Donna!
Ah, the color is so bright and happy. Your art looks great on all of the Society 6 items.
Thank you Sharon, I can’t tell you how much I’ve enjoyed these bright flowers!
Those archways and arch doors are gorgeous. Thank you for brightening our day with all that beautiful color!
Thank you Nancy!
Thank you for brightening my day, Jenna! 😊 🌸
My pleasure!
so fun that you have a table to “scape” in your foyer! Such a great idea. Love the beautiful, bright, happy colors!
thanks Jodi, I love this table, it is handy for lots of things! The foyer is a very versatile space, I’m thinking of setting a large long table in there for Christmas dinner this year…
great idea!
Shopping the house is best when we buy something new… isn’t it?
Your bright colors are beautiful! And when visitors come to your house this is their welcome! How wonderful! Happy Week to you!
thank you Nancy, I was happy the only thing new was the flowers!
What a breath of sunshine, Jenna. Love your bright tablescape. Your artwork is so beautiful, too. Enjoy your week and thank you for brightening my day!
Thanks Katie, much appreciated!
LOVE the grapefruit and turquoise combo. Your table is gorgeous! And I know that looking at your art improves my mental health! I love the tea tray. LOVE it!
Oh, thanks Ricki Jill! Art makes everything better!
Oh I am in love with these grapefruit colored flowers. You are wise to grab a bouquet to bring home, perfect to brighten up these dreary rainy days, like today! Beautiful artwork as well. Happy dreary Monday and glad you are feeling better, enough to venture out. I have not yet, hopefully this week. Take care……….sending hugs.
thanks Emily, at least we don’t have to deal with snow!
That is SO cheerful! Pantone color of the year is coral and it looks great with the turquoise plates and table runner. I need to paint a table runner. I’d love to be having breakfast there — the happy colors would be the perfect wake-up!
I know, I’m kicking myself for not mentioning it is the color of the year!!
Isn’t it fun when a whimsical purchase can lead to such a beautiful table?! I absolutely love this color combination! In fact, you have really inspired me here. My first set of dishes (purchased back when I was still in high school in the 70s) was Fitz & Floyd’s “Coquilles.” This set has salmon (read: grapefruit!) colored shells on them. I had never thought to pair these with turquoise and was really no longer using them because I was finding them a bit dull. I cannot wait to see what I can do come spring!
I have those dishes Pattie!!!! Splurged on them and have enjoyed them for years. I have posted several tablescapes with them {several years ago} I will look forward to seeing what you come up with!!
Such pretty colors!! I like how the grapefruit colors pair well with the turquoise blue vase. You are right, it brings sunshine to a dreary day! 💗
yes, at first I thought I would have to use a clear vase, but with a few more touches of turquoise, I loved it!
need to show this to my wife great color is always a great way to brighten a room and add focus.
Thanks Joe, it’s amazing how this changed the mood of the whole house!
I love your fresh and bright table inspired by your blooms Jenna! It is amazing what flowers or color and do to boost your spirit! I hope you sales are brisk! ♥
I’ve never bought flowers at Target before, but these were really beautiful, I’ve enjoyed them so much!
Isn’t it amazing what can inspire us? I’m with you when it comes to not wanting dreary around me when so many winter days tend toward gray.
We haven’t had dreary weather, as a matter of fact, it has been lovely in our area of Florida. All the worse since I’ve been indoors with a cold as well. I like your idea of brightening your home with the pretty grapefruit colored table setting.
Thanks Karen, hope you’re feeling better, it took me weeks!
Thank you!
