Creations, Fall Signs and Spoon Faces

Welcome to the Monthly Creative Craft Blog Hop

Thank you Andrea of Design Morsels for hosting this great hop

Are you ready for some incredible Fall and Holiday Inspirations?

Great, because we have plenty for you!!

All the links and craft sources can be found at the end of the post

I decided to make some Fall signs and spoon faces

to use on tiered trays and in vignettes

Let’s get started!

I painted an unfinished wood plaque black,

added a spider and a few spider webs,

then painted the sides orange with a black and white checked border

I saw a lot of holiday painted wood spoons on Pinterest

which inspired me to paint a wooden spoon black

and create a mummy with white paint and green eyes

{this is not my original idea, but I can’t source anyone as there are tons of these on Pinterest and Etsy}

I gathered some more decorations from my Halloween stash

and created a spooky Halloween tray

I lined the tiers with spider web napkins

Then I added witch legs, pumpkins and lots of spooky things!

With Halloween less than 2 weeks away,

and with Thanksgiving just around the corner,

I made a turkey spoon and a couple of Thanksgiving signs

I painted wooden triangle shims {that came with a stretched art canvas}

orange and yellow and the spoon brown

I painted details on his face and body

and glued the “feathers” to the spoon back

For the Thanksgiving signs, I used tiles and acrylic craft paint

The turkey spoon and tiles can be used in vignettes

and flower arrangements

I hope you are having a beautiful Fall!

    • I am late to the tiered tray craze, but they are so much fun to put together and anything goes! Yes, it would be a fun kids project, I’m sure they would think of things we never would!

  18. Debbee says:

    Jenna, you always create the most wonderful things with your paints and brushes! When I was a teenager, I stained wooden spoons and white washed the inner spoon. Then i painted miniature trios of mushrooms on the white, tied a piece of leather shoestring on the top and they became decorative wall hangings for a kitchen. Must have sold 50 of them to earn spending money for Christmas. Forget all about that until I saw this adorable project post!

  19. Looks like you’re ready for boo-time Jenna! I’ve been thinking about getting out my tiered tray for Thanksgiving:@)
