Fearless Friday, Holiday Trees

It’s been a busy week at The Painted Apron,

and my birthday is tomorrow…

so I am taking the day off

and reposting this fun and fearless way

anyone can create trees!

How many ways can you draw a holiday tree?

hmmm….let’s see!

So many styles and possibilities!

Fun to color too!

I used watercolor pencils for the mod tree,

coloring it in an ombre style from light to dark

and then using a waterbrush to blend

The traditional tree came to life

with strokes of a water brush pen and blending

Girly Curls was colored with a fine tip marker

Even just a crude tree shape

can be jazzed up with a couple layers of color

Or try stacks of shapes in whimsical colors

Use a white gel pen for accents on top of dark colors

Don’t forget circles and swirls~

Just use your imagination!

And remember even if you can only manage a stick tree, tutorial here,

There are lots of possibilities!

Be Fearless!

Happy Birthday, Bama! Love the trees! But most importantly you included one of the best words in the English language–IMAGINATION, one of my faves. Here’s a quote from Einstein:

“Imagination is more important than knowledge. For while knowledge defines all we currently know and understand, imagination points to all we might yet discover and create.” – Albert Einstein

And I now know what we have in common–December birthdays–mine is the 12th. Live it up have a great day today and for all of December! Georgia Gal
