Fearless Friday, Abstract Watercolor Landscape

I have been experimenting with different styles and techniques lately,
inspired by other artists,
and this watercolor landscape caught my eye
I found it on Pinterest but I was unable to source it

Shapes and color tell the story here
and I did a quick watercolor sketch rendition

I started with the lightest areas,
and worked from light to dark

Abstract Watercolor Landscape, 7″ x 10″ watercolor on 140 lb. cold press paper

Mine is not a finished painting,
it is merely a warm up sketch,
experimenting with the reflections and shadows
I only spent about 30 minutes on this
and it was a nice way to play and relax

Get out your paint brush and play!

Jenna, I love your abstract watercolor landscape! The colors are so striking. Happy Friday!
Thank you Pam! Did you have any tornado scares? It came dangerously close to us, they were naming streets near us on WBRC 6 as the storm went by, we were hunkered down in the basement for a while…
Jenna, I am so glad you all are safe. It was not close to us.
I love seeing the step outs of your paintings, Jenna! You make it look so easy. (I have found it is far less so than you make it appear!) Lovely!
Thank you Jeanie, sometimes it’s fun to just let loose and play freely!

It doesn’t do justice to the model painting, but it was a fun and playful experiment!
