Holidays, A Little Mardi Gras

As much as I love Valentine’s Day and decorations,

this year I couldn’t wait to get them stashed away…

I wanted brighter decor to chase the winter blues away!

My Valentine’s Day on a Tray...

Transformed to Mardi Gras and Fat Tuesday~

Time to bring out the purple, gold and green!

The heart is gone now and the silver wreath

sports festive Mardi Gras masks

The mantel has been transformed from Valentine’s red,

to Spring yellow, blue and green

Stand Alone

The gold bottle vase holds an Steven Singer Emerald Rose

Even though Valentine’s Day is His birthday,

HHjr surprised me with this rose

for a special Valentine gift this year…

Steven Singer is a jeweler who takes real roses

and preserves them with 24 karat gold!

There’s a funny story behind this jeweler,

you can read about it at I Hate Steven Singer here

This Emerald Rose is perfect for Mardi Gras and St. Patrick’s Day!

We’re on the Gulf coast for the holiday weekend,

and Mardi Gras is in full swing down here!

We ran into a boat parade of Mardi Gras pirates

They showered the kids with beads, candy and trinkets

It’s sunny and breezy and a little chilly,

but it’s always good to be in our home away from home…

Unfortunately freezing temps in January

caused our hurricane Sally challenged pool liner

to split in a few places…

All the water just drained right out into the sand 😬

But, the good news is a new liner has been ordered,

there aren’t any supply chain issues for it

and it should be arriving soon and be installed

before Spring Break when we will want to swim

🎭 Laissez les bon temps rouler! 🎉 👑

    Enjoy your holiday weekend.

  2. How fun to see the decorated boats! Love all your Mardi Gras decor. I’m getting mine out this week too.

Jenna, how fun to have a weekend getaway at the coast. I love the photo of your grandchildren with their beads. What a haul! Their smiles are adorable! I, too, have packed away my valentine things, thought hearts remain here and there as they are always part of our decor. Your festive Mardi Gras decor makes me smile. I don’t have any Mardi Gras decor, but you have inspired me to think out of the box and perhaps ry to pull together a little something on a tray. Love your tray decor ideas.
Enjoy the weekend. Hope your weather is sunny and warms a bit.

Love your festive Mardi Gras decor! So sorry about the pool liner. It’s always something isn’t it? Enjoy your weekend at your vacation place. 🙂

  5. Jenna, the grands are so cute wearing their beads. The tray transitioned beautifully from Valentine’s to Mardi Gras. The emerald rose is absolutely stunning, and it is a lovely and thoughtful gift from HHjr. Enjoy the long weekend at the beach with your family!

What a fun post! I had to find out about Steven Singer. Great story and thoughtful gift from your son. Mardi Gras is not a big thing in my neck of the woods, but interesting nonetheless. I would think your beach house would be a great place to celebrate–away from the craziness of New Orleans, but close enough to add zip to the season. The pictured pirates are great.

    • Thank you Linda, Mardi Gras is a big deal on the Gulf coast, it actually originated in Mobile AL. Kids are even out of school the week of Fat Tuesday and there are parties and parades for weeks! We were lucky to stumble upon a boat parade on Saturday and it was so much fun!

  7. Happy Mardi Gras, Jenna! LOVE your festive Mardi Gras decor, and the rose is beautiful! What an interesting method for preserving roses!!!

  8. Those green roses were very popular with Eagles fans this year Jenna! Happy Mardi Gras Season-enjoy:@)

This is so totally festive, and I love it all, Jenna! What a sweet surprise from your HHJr! (I read the story behind the jeweler, funny). Love the boat parade, but gee whiz, the pool liner! That sucks! I’m shocked there wasn’t an issue with the supply for the liner. That’s great. I spent today playing with St Patrick’s and spring decor. We have crocus and hellebore blooming in the neighborhood, and am told the peepers (frogs) have been singing up a storm in the country. That’s as good as spring in my book! Bring on Fat Tuesday and let’s slide right into spring! Yay!

Jenna, I hope that you are having a wonderful holiday weekend! I love all your Mardi Gras decorations. The rose is beautiful and what a thoughtful gift. Wishing you a joyous week ahead!

I just love all your Mardi Gras decor. That rose is something else…So pretty!
The beads and your grandchildren is amazing. How fun they can celebrate with you …right along with the Mardi Gras Boat parade!
Thanks for the delightful inspiration. Happy Monday!

Laissez les bon temps rouler Jenna! I know the boat parade must have been a fun sight. It’s a serious holiday there if school is out for the entire week preceding it! So sorry about your pool liner but so glad to hear there isn’t a supply chain issue like with so many things. Enjoy your beach time! ♥

Love all your pretty green for St. Patrick’s and Mardi Gras. Gorgeous rose, I’ve not seen those. It’s always nice to get to the beach, especially a winter break. Oh sorry about the pool liner but getting in replace by spring break makes it better. Cute pics of the kiddos.

  14. I love the emerald rose, what an interesting concept. Thanks for sharing.

  15. Lafayne says:

    Love the Mardi-Gras theme idea.

You must live near me! I live on the Coast. It took my husband 45 minutes to get home last night due to one of the night parades setting up. He was so mad when he got home lol! You know you’re getting old when you’re annoyed by a parade! Sometimes I feel 50 something instead of 30 something haha. You know I’ve never decorated or made a Mardi Gras wreath. I never did for St. Patrick’s Day either, but I did this year. Maybe next year I will for Mardi Gras. I love your rose! That’s the only kind of flower I’d want. I get somewhat annoyed when hubby buys flowers, like, “hello? They’re gonna die! You could’ve got me a real gift…. or a plant!” No, I don’t really say it. That would be ungrateful lol! Thanks for sharing on Crafty Creators!
