Fearless Friday, Autumn Leaves

Are you in full Fall mode yet?
I spotted real pumpkins at the market the other day,
and leaves are starting to cover my driveway…

I love to paint autumn leaves with watercolor
like Leaves of Change above
Let’s see what we can create with markers and colored pencils

The photo collage below is what I used for my reference photos

First, a pencil sketch

Next markers were used to outline and color

At this point I decided I wanted to use a fine black liner
to cover the pencil lines and then erase the pencil

Next I switched to colored pencils and began coloring the leaves,
varying the colors and shades

I added some squiggly lines on the sides and bottom
to form a journal page

Then I added a lovely Fall quote
Have some Fall fun and
Be Fearless!
Here are some more things to get you in a full swing Fall mood!

Yes, I’m in fall mode! I love your watercolor leaves. I’m ready to get my framed prints of your artwork I bought from your Society6 shop out and hang again!
Oh, thanks Rita, I am very flattered!
Perfect painted leaves!! I am looking forward to the foliage this fall!
We won’t see color for a while here, but the leaves are falling! I’m ready for mums and pumpkins!
Good morning, Jenna. I love your autumn leaves journal page. Autumn is my most favorite of the seasons and the falling leaves are part of the beauty of the season. Happy Friday 🍂🍁🍂
Thank you Pam, have a great weekend!
You know I’m the only one left in the world celebrating this glorious hot summer, but in time . . . these will be inspirational. Give me a few more weeks. Ahhh. Beach.
I never like to see Summer slipping away, but I’ll be in Bham for a while and the leaves are falling here!
I love your leaves, Jenna. They’re so beautifully free and light and happy. I’m never ready for fall, but if it was like your leaves, I’d be more excited!
Thank you Jeanie! Fall is coming, ready or not!
Oh Jenna, your Fall leaves are perfect! You capture the exact colors which warm my heart because we don’t have those vibrant colors down here in SW Florida 🙁 !! But I do remember them from Kansas my home state. I also remember one day watching a hedge row of beautiful oak trees have their leaves lifted off the branches and float to the sky on each breeze. The look was awesome, watching those bright colors as in your art, floating against the blue sky. Thank you for the memories.
Our leaves won’t be colorful in the South until late Oct., but they are starting to fall! I know what you mean, I love to watch them float on the pretty blue sky!
As always, beautiful Jenna! Have a wonderful weekend!
Thanks Katie, you too!
You are amazing! Such a colorful array of Autumn Leaves.
I am starting to feel the Fall Vibes as well.
Thank you for always sharing your creative inspiration!
Thank you Nancy, have a wonderful weekend!
I love your creatively . . . nice work!
Thank you 🙂
I like this! You could use white butcher paper and make a table runner or placemats using this design!
That’s a fun idea! Thanks Ricki!
I love the quote and it fits perfectly with your beautiful journal page. You are helping my heart transition to fall.
Thanks Linda, it’s hard to transition when the temps are still high, we’ve been cooling off a little in the South, and leaves are falling!
They are beautiful, Jenna. Always fun painting and sketching leaves. Love seeing your process. 🍁
Thank you Patty Anne, I love seeing your process too, as artists we inspire each other!
Beautiful Jenna! I can hardly wait for autumn leaves! ♥
Thank you Mary, our leaves are starting to fall 🍁
