Holiday Gift Buckets

Welcome to the November Creative Crafts Blog Hop!
A big thank you to Sara from Birdz of a Feather for hosting!
Welcome friends, readers, and visitors from
Cecelia at My Thrift Store Addiction

Today I want to share this easy holiday craft idea with you,
Holiday Buckets!

A decorated bucket can elevate the simplest gift,
you can tuck in some holiday candy,
a batch of homemade cookies, anything you want!
It also can be used as a decoration or centerpiece,
so it’s really a gift in itself~

I gathered some Christmas things from my craft stash,
ribbons, little gift packages, berries, mini ornaments, glass beads
and a couple of buckets

I didn’t really have a plan, just sat down and started playing…
I tied a band of ribbon tied around the galvanized bucket
and made a bow tied with a wired strand of berries
I tied 2 lengths of sheer red ribbon around the rope handle on one side

Then I added a piece of candy cane ribbon
I attached the bow on top and added a little red truck ornament

Red and green glass beads are glued around the brim
for a finishing touch

I tied small red bows on the handle of the black polka dot bucket

Then I slid them up the handle a little
and tied a length of wire edged plaid ribbon underneath

I had some mini ornaments on wrapped wire stems
that I used to attach a gift package around each side of the handle
between the ribbons

I added a Merry Christmas gift tag
and a fun ornament to complete this bucket

These buckets came together in no time at all
and will be a festive special gift~
AND
using things I already had, they didn’t cost anything!

Next up is our hostess Sara with her very clever Crochet Phone Pouch

Hi, Jenna,
Dropping in to catch up and found your great bucket gifts–these are perfect. And when all the goodies/gifts have been used one still has a handy bucket–the gift that keeps on giving!
Wanted to make sure I stopped by before I go into overdrive this week getting ready for my family for Thanksgiving at my house. I hope you and yours have a wonderful holiday–I already know you’ll have great dishes. I send love and blessings from Georgia (it has been a little chilly over here) and when I pray for our friends I will be thinking of you having a happy time with your family. Happy Turkey Day to all!
Georgia Gal
hi Georgia Gal! Aren’t you the sweetest! How wonderful to be busy prepping for your family coming for Thanksgiving! We are actually having a non traditional Thanksgiving, we’ll be at the beach house and might not even cook a turkey, but we will have a good time whatever we end up having! Sending love and blessings right back to you!
Jenna,
I love your buckets. What a great idea,. I have some but they don’t have handles. I can probably make some. Thanks for the idea.
