Spring Bunny and Ribbon Carrot

Time for some crafty fun!
My thoughts jumped right to Spring when January was over
and I have been thinking about ways to bring Spring to my decor
Welcome to the monthly Creative Craft Hop

Thank you Sara from Birdz of a Feather
for being our hostess and keeping us organized!
Welcome friends, readers and visitors from Southern Sunflowers
Today I’m going to show you how to make a sweet bunny canvas
and how to make a carrot out of ribbon
to add to your Spring decor
I had a piece of wood from my craft stash
and a piece of wide orange wired edge ribbon

I played around with folding the ribbon to make a carrot shape
I painted the board with a creamy white paint

Then I secured the ribbon to the board with dots of hot glue
Then I spied this green tissue in a gift box of oranges…

It was perfect for the carrot top!
To give it a more finished look I added orange checks to the sides

A flat square brush makes quick work of adding checks with only 1 stroke

For the Spring bunny I painted a small artist’s canvas a pale blue

I free handed the bunny shape,

If you’re not comfortable free handing the bunny shape
you can draw it on paper,
cut it out and then trace the shape on your canvas
very lightly with a pencil, and then paint it

When the paint was dry, I glued a paper flower on for the tail
and glued a ribbon bow to the neck

I used paint pens to apply dots on the background

Then I decided to add checks on the edges of the bunny canvas too

Great use of stuff you already had! Adorable and that ribbon carrot is so creative!
Thanks Sara, I love crafts that require no shopping 🙂 I am so ready for Spring I just had to make some cheerful decorations! Thanks so much for another great hop!
My pleasure!
Adorable!
Thanks Rita!
Jenna, you know I always look forward to seeing your creations and this one doesn’t disappoint! How sweet and adorable are these! Perfect for Easter!
Oh Gail, you are always so sweet! Thank you and your basket blew me away!
These are both cute, but you know me — I can’t resist a bunny!
Bunnies are hard to resist~ I have always had a thing for carrots, don’t know why but I just love them for spring decorating!
Your Easter frames are adorable Jenna. I love how easy to follow your tutorial is and something we all can create for Easter. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you Terrie, they are fun quick crafts!
I love both these ideas! And I love how you recycled the carrot tops!
Thanks Dorothy, they are quick and easy crafts!
Jenna, your creativity always amazes me. The bunny is precious, and the carrot is such a cute and clever accompaniment. I am so ready for spring. I’ve been thinking about getting my bunnies out. I usually wait until March, but I think they may hop onto the scene a little earlier this year. I hope you have a wonderful day, sweet friend!
Thank you Shannon, I am so ready for Spring too, and these projects really brightened up this dreary week! Have fun with your bunnies!
Jenna, what a darling pair of crafts! That ribbon carrot is so creative–pinned! Blessings, Cecilia @My Thrift Store Addiction
Thanks so much Cecelia, I love how the carrot turned out 🙂
So Cute and I love the detail that you give to each canvas… those edges perfectly finish off the already adorable projects. SO CUTE! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks Tammy, the checked edges were an afterthought, and I really like the way it makes them look. Spring will be here soon I hope!
Jenna, As usual, your artistic creativity impresses. Using the ribbon to make a carrot is genius. Reusing the tissue is brilliant. Love how you drew the bunny and embellished it. Super sweet projects.
Thanks so much Carol, I am ready to put the hearts away and bring out the bunnies to play!
Now these are just as cute as can be. I’m amazed at your carrot ribbon creativity! What an artistic soul you are! No wonder I love you!
Aw, thanks so much Leslie Anne! Quick and easy projects!
You are so creative! Thanks for a fun tutorial, very cute!
Thank you Cyndi 😘
Jenna, your creativity continues to amaze me. What a great idea using ribbon to make a carrot. The spring bunny is too cute. Both crafts are fabulous! Stay safe this afternoon and evening. Ugh, I always dread these weather days.
Thanks Pam, these were fun and easy crafts. HHjr and his boys just got home, school let out early so I’m thrilled we are all here safe. I pray there are no tornadoes…
These are so cute! I love the 3-D look that everyone is sharing this month. The carrot is something even I, someone who can’t draw a stick figure, can do! I even have the orange ribbon and green tissue paper on hand. Pinned.

Thanks so much Niki, the carrot is so quick and easy, it just makes me smile!
Both of your spring crafts are super cute, cute, cute! Love how whimsical the carrot looks and your bunny is so sweet. My husband makes fun of the dots I use so many times in my crafts, but I love me some checks, too ~ lol.
Thanks Allyson, dots and checks end up on most of my creations 😂 and I love the ease of making them with the brush handle tip dipped into paint like you did!
What great projects–and a lot of us already have the makings in our stashes. Winter in Maine is much TOO long for me and your spring colors are so cheerful; I’m ready for them!
Thanks so much Kathy!
Such adorable ideas for spring. I love bunnies, they hold a special place in my heart. The carrot is genius on the board made of beautiful ribbon. And, you just shopped your house for materials makes it all the better. Great ideas Jenna……
Thanks so much Emily, I’ve got Spring Fever!
Very cute, I like the carrot ribbon a bunch!
Thanks Mary 🐇🥕 Hurry Spring!
