Fearless Friday, Garden Fantasy

Last week we drew and colored realistic botanical flowers

This week we’re going to do the exact opposite

and draw flowers zentangle style,

free-form, anything goes, flower doodles!

This is for anyone who has pen!

No rules, just have fun and create funky, crazy, flowers!

Start with a line for the stem and add a shape,

then build a flower from there!

Add lines or a pattern

Add another flower

Give it some pattern

And details

How about a crazy leaf?

Continue to add flowers until you have a Fantasy Garden!

Now, to color or not to color?

I decided to leave it in black and white to emphasize the designs

Doodle away and create your own garden

where you don’t ever have to water the flowers!

Be Fearless!

  2. So beautiful! Wish I could paint or draw something decent :-//

Jenna, this is so pretty! You are always so talented. My daughter loves to paint and draw. When she was home from college for spring break, she took up her art again. She decided to take some of her supplies back to school with her. She says it helps her when she is stressed. I showed her your Instagram account and had her follow you. You always have such beautiful paintings and sketches. I hope you have a happy and blessed Easter weekend!

    • Thank you so much Shannon! I am so glad she is doing art again, it is a wonderful way to destress…keep encouraging her! What is she majoring in, anything she can incorporate with her art?

  4. I love how you take it through step by step, Jenna. Your work always makes me smile.

  5. Pam says:

“Doodling” has a negative connotation for some people, but this tutorial shows it as the art it is!

  11. Loveliness – and love the directions!

Lovely Jenna and it looks like so much fun! I love it in black and white, but I’d be very interested to see how you color it, if you decide to. Happy Monday!
