I used a tiered tray and filled it with things that remind me of summer
My inspiration for this summer tray
was this cute little watermelon pillow I saw on Etsy
I decided to pop into Hobby Lobby
to get some more watermelon & summer things
When I walked in the door, guess what I saw…
Pumpkins, there were pumpkins absolutely everywhere
and it was the middle of June!
I know these kind of stores are always a season ahead
but there was not a summer decoration in the entire store!
So I turned to good old Amazon and found a lot of cute summer things
The first step was lining the tiers~
I used green, pink and orange cloth napkins
Then the fun began!
A Hello Summer sign, a watermelon truck and a summer book stack
Flip flops on a string spelling beach and a bright Hello Summer
The middle tier has a sign to the beach and another melon truck
There’s a Surf Shop, a gnome and a big beach ball on the bottom tier
The set these came in included small easel stands to keep them upright
A few flower napkin rings were tucked in here and there

What a fun tray, Jenna! With so much to see and delight in! I’m glad you were able to find all these cute items that perfectly capture what a carefree summer is all about. Each one is more adorable than the last, though that watermelon pillow is particularly special. Great to tour with you again!

They were starting to put Christmas out too, it was the first time I have ever gone to HL and not bought a thing! I am spending the whole month of July at the beach, it’s heaven!

Darling summer tray Jenna. i love that cute watermelon pillow. Too bad you couldn’t find some watermelon decor items. Yes the store have all gone fall. The sun guy with glasses is so sweet. A lovely way to celebrate summer on a tray.

Jenna, your tray is adorable and definitely says everything summer from your cute watermelon pillow to your flip flop garland (how perfect is that?). Love the sun with the sunglasses too – what a hoot! I know what you mean about the stores. I was in HomeSense last weekend and they already had one whole aisle with pumpkins. I haven’t been to Michaels yet and they are typically even further ahead in the seasons. I’m definitely not ready for pumpkins yet. I hope you have a wonderful summer and I hope you leave that sweet tray out to enjoy!
Thank you Kim! I actually styled the tray with my granddaughter, we had so much fun doing it together. I will leave it out until Labor Day. I think what surprised me the most when I went to Hobby Lobby was the number of pumpkins they had, they were absolutely everywhere!! They didn’t even have a section of marked down summer things, not one thing!!

Such a cute tray! I’m glad you found some summer things. I remember trying to get winter things in Hobby Lobby in January–not a snowflake in sight. Oh, my! Pumpkins in July??? I’ve heard of “Christmas in July,” but that is a whole other concept. I think the intention was to get crafters to start working on their needlework early.

Jenna, Pumpkins in June! Who is buying fall at the beginning of summer? Glad you found your summer things. The tiered tray filled with these cute, colorful symbols of summer makes a perfect welcome on your entry table. I always enjoy how you style this table. Fun idea to use the colorful napkins as a fluffy base and also to add in the flower napkin rings.
