Fearless Friday, Collage Art
I have been thinking about making a collage
using parts of my own sketches, pieces of paper, etc.
but I just can’t seem to get started!

This pretty flower collage was done by my artist blogging friend
I love the way she made the white leaves
from parts of her own sketches
and how she tied the bouquet together with a fine liner
and added the white bouquet filler with a white pen
This Ladybug collage was done by another artist blogging friend Jill
The ladybug was cut out of a greeting card
and she used a paper punch to create the white dots
She used different collage papers in various shapes and colors
and added her own doodles with a pen
This vase of flowers is also by my friend Jill
She shows how to use Your Handwriting as Art here
She also created highlights with a yellow paint pen

I saw this shoe collage by Nancy Standlee on Pinterest
and was drawn into it by all the words in the background

I think these dog and cat collages from creativeartworksblog
are stunning
I also like collages with a solid background so the subject really pops
The pear, elephant and bunny collages are from Pinterest

I like this purple daisy but I’m not crazy about the background paper

This pumpkin or Harvest Pepper is actually a quilt pattern
from Collage Quilter

This Flower Pot collage print is for sale on Art.com
I think this colorful bird from Pinterest might be my favorite
I looked back at previous Fearless Fridays and
I found that I had done several collages
that I had forgotten about…

So, what do you think? Do you like collage art?
Which ones stand out to you? Which one is your favorite?
I would love your opinions~

These are great Jenna! Love the red shoes.
Thanks Dorothy, I like that one too~
you are fearless! I love how you share your art & your thought on these posts.
Thank you so much!
I won a blue ribbon – first place for a collage I made . . . in the fourth grade! But I’ve loved the medium ever since. I think it’s often far more interesting than regular painted images. Your examples are amazing. Go for it! Your creative mind will surely buzz with good ideas!
A blue ribbon, wow! I really do want to do this, I just can’t seem to get started:)
I love your mixed media with the musical instruments and it is my favorite of all the examples. All the ones you shared are great! Happy Friday, Jenna!
Thank you Pam, I had forgotten all about that musical canvas I did for a friend~ I do like the way. it turned out, so that is helping me get ideas.
I love collage art! These are so fun!
Thanks Rita, I thought these were really interesting!
That bird you like so much reminds me of a mosaic. It is beautiful!
It does look like a mosaic!
I’m curious where your work with collages will take you!!!
Thank you Mary, I just can’t seem to get started!
I LOVE collage art. My favorite here is the beautiful musical collage. That really speaks to me. I do collage art all of the time, and have been making collages for quite a few years. Currently, I’m collaging rolodex cards and returning them to my Rolodex so that I can turn it every day and see different little pieces of art
What a fun idea! I have another blogging friend who does that in her daily journal… I just can’t seem to get started on one…maybe this week 🙂
All of these are so inspirational. I have to confess I did collage for so long I don’t know if I ever want to glue things down again. But I’m sure I will!
Thanks Jeanie, I have done very few and I want to try it using some of my own art sketches, we shall see!
Yes I do like the collages and I agree that colorful bird is my favorite, it is so intricate. The two you have done are great and I’m sure you will get back to it.
Thanks for the encouragement Karen!
I took an art class in college as an elective. One of our assignments was to make a collage. I still have mine. I cut out children’s faces and placed them into the shape of the United States. I was an education major. 😀
hi Nancy! What a great idea and so perfect for your education major~ thanks for sharing!
I think mixed media and collages are so interesting Jenna! I have a hard time believing you’re struggling being fearless 😊
haha, I know, somehow I just can’t get started but I have an idea…
Jenna,
I LOVE collages! I will share this with my artist daughter for sure. I loved your musical instrument collage–there is something about a keyboard that just catches my attention. And I love the red shoe AND the bird from Pinterest that you liked. Thanks for reminding us of this medium–it’s exciting to see the many pieces come together for a final impression.

Thanks Georgia Gal! So nice to hear from you! I will be sharing another collage this Friday so try to stop back by!
Hi Jenna! So surprised to see some of my art in your post! So kind of you to include it! 😍
I like the face collage you did and the music themed one too! The great thing about collage or art is you can just have fun and there are no rules! Cheers! 💗
I love your collages Jill, and that’s a great way to describe collage, no rules!
Thank you Jill, I couldn’t believe how the flowers all matched each other!
