Tales of the Traveling Tote, June 2024

Happy June and Happy Summer!

It’s time for the June edition of the Traveling Tote

We are a group that share a love of MacKenzie-Childs

We all have the same large Courtly Check tote bag

We post about where our totes have been every 3 months

and host a giveaway which you can enter at the end of this post

Spring seemed to really fly by this year!

March for my family means celebrating CC’s St. Patrick’s Day birthday

She turned 11 this year, no more Barbie dolls,

now she is all about fingernails and skin care products!

March also means Spring Break at the beach house

Everyone was anxiously awaiting our new boat,

it was delivered the day after we got there

Our fishing boat was damaged during Hurricane Sally in 2020,

we could never get it fixed correctly, it was always in the shop…

My son finally traded it in for a brand new, problem free boat

We enjoyed lots of beautiful weather and boat rides

It has lounges on the front that are very comfortable!

Finally, 3 1/2 years after the hurricane, things are all back to normal

Fingers crossed hurricane season will be quiet this year 🤞

The boat looks very cool at night!

The kids are growing up fast

but the 3 youngest still were all about an Easter egg hunt

Back to “the city” for April and W’s 9th birthday

He is all about baseball

Big E turned 12 on Mother’s Day so we had a combination

Mother’s Day/birthday party

It was our first patio party of the year and everyone brought me flowers!

It was a shower of flowers!

Super Teen turned 16 3 days later and his parents surprised him

with a new {used} truck

Miss Coquille, my tote, and I headed back to the beach

for Memorial Day weekend and we are still here enjoying some R & R

The kids love to paddle board

Super Teen is into fishing from his kayak

and spear fishing!

A week at the beach requires a visit to Souvenir City

and lots of boat rides

Tomorrow I’m heading back to “the city” for a few weeks

and then we will all be back for the 4th of July

Hi Jenna, What fun to get a new boat! I was just thinking to myself as you mentioned the damage from the Hurricane Sally that I hope this is a nonthreatening hurricane season.🤞 The blue water views are beautiful and I can’t get over how much your grands have grown and driving no less! Enjoy your last day of beach time. Happy June ♥

    • Thank you Mary, we are loving the new boat and it will be August before we have to start worrying about hurricanes, so I’m looking forward to a relaxing June and July 😎 Happy Summer!

Honestly, your toggling between beach and city sound like the perfect travel combination for me, Jenna. I love the fact your family is so close, and love celebrating special occasions together. It’s a little sad to see CC transition to young lady realm, but it’s also a privilege to watch her (as well as Super Teen) through it all. So happy your 3 1/2 year Sally saga is over, the boat Is great. Let’s hope it’s not as bad a hurricane season as they sensationalize it’s going to be. I’ve given up on weatherman and politicians. 🙄
    Happy June!

    • Thank you Rita, I’m pretty much a home body these days and that’s about as much traveling as I want to do! The best thing about the grands getting older is now they can really help out 😂 I’m with you on giving up on weathermen and politicians!

Good morning, Jenna. How wonderful to have a new boat and a really nice one! I can’t believe that CC is no longer into dolls and that you now have one that is driving and in truck, no less! Traveling back and forth to your two homes is a lovely lifestyle! Thanks for sharing your handsome and beautiful grands with us! Happy Saturday and be safe as you travel back to the city!

    • Thank you Pam, it’s hard watching them grow up so fast, but at least now they are really helpful around the house! We have had a lovely summer week here, but stormy this morning.

I know how you enjoy spending time with your family at the beach. The new boat is gorgeous and I know will be enjoyed by all. Wow, hard to believe how our grands are growing up so fast. Cute pics of the kiddos. Super teen looks very happy with his new truck. Now you have someone to drive you around like I do. I know since Connor has his permit and loves to drive, license this month! Enjoy the beach, it’s raining here……

    • Thank you Emily, it’s everyone’s favorite place to be 🙂 We have had a beautiful week, but yes stormy this morning. I am a little nervous about Fox driving, it’s hard watching them all get so grown up! Happy Summer!

  6. Patti @ Pandora's Box says:

The kids are growing up so quickly and the memories of being at the beach cottage will be with them forever. You. can tell how much they enjoy being there! Your back patio at home is lovely and the perfect place to party when not at the cottage – you are so fortunate to have two lovely homes! Enjoy spending the 4th and summer on the water!

    • Thank you Patti, yes I am very fortunate to have two lovely homes, and that’s all the traveling I want to do these days 🙂 It’s amazing that this is the 39th TTT ! Did you ever dream it would last this long? Amazing and thank you!

  7. Karen says:

Jenna, I love seeing all your coastal photos. Your grands have really grown up. I know it’s a joy to have them in your life. I smiled at the change in your granddaughter’s interests. Same with my great nieces. All Annabelle wanted for her birthday was beauty products. Great to see all these fabulous photos! Happy Summer!

    • Thank you Sarah, we love our times on the coast. You should have seen all CC’s beauty products she brought with her, it looked like a beauty supply store in her bathroom, I wish I had taken a picture 😂 Cheers to summer! 🥂

Jenna, I wish time would slow down 🙂 All of a sudden, your grands have grown up. I remember the teachers telling me to take a photo of our boys in 7th grade and again in 9th grade. Unbelievable how they grew so fast! Your new boat is perfect for relaxing and I can see the kids each found a place to lie down and enjoy the sunshine. Enjoy your last day of beach time! Looking forward to your July 4th photos.

  13. Kitty says:

Wow Jenna, you had a Spring filled with birthdays! The kids are growing up so fast! Your new boat looks fabulous and it must be nice to be back to normal. My grandson, Caiden’s birthday was also on Mother’s Day this year. Happy June in the city!

It’s hard to believe it has been 3 months since your last Tote Post. Boy, it has been a season full of birthdays and other celebrations for your family–so much fun! Congratulations on the new boat; it is a beaut!

I love seeing all your photos from the coast, especially the grands. I can’t believe your grandson is 16! The water looks so pretty, and I think it’s neat seeing all your grands participating in water sports. You were showered in flowers! I love that! I love this time of year when we can enjoy our patios before it gets too hot. I just hate it’s been so rainy this weekend because the temperatures have been lovely.

I hope to see you before you head back to the beach! Enjoy your summer, Sweet Friend!
