Beachy Bottle
It’s time for the July edition of the Monthly Creative Craft Hop
Thank you Sara from Birdz of a Feather for hosting!
Welcome friends, followers, readers and visitors from Patina and Paint
For my craft this month,
I wanted to do something with this pretty bottle
hmmm….
Looking through my craft stash
I found a container of small sea shells
and an idea started to form
I threw in some flat back glass beads

I decided to paint the bottle to look like the seashore
and glue shells on the sandy beach
I used white liquid acrylic paint,
and light blue and royal blue craft paint,
and yellow ocrhe {not pictured}

I let the first coat dry and then did a second coat
I glued the tan flat glass beads along the bottom indicating sand

Then I indicated the sand with small dots
applied with the tip end of a paint brush
that I dipped in both white and yellow ochre paint
I painted the water’s edge with a wavy light blue

Then royal blue for the deeper part of the ocean

Then I used a mix of white and yellow ochre
and added the waves breaking on the sand with mini strokes
Time for some shells!
At this point, I was busy with the finishing touches
and forgot to take any more photos
as I added more tiny shells
then finished the top with 2 small rectangular tiles
and glass beads

Next up on the hop is Apple Street Cottage

That turned out really summery and nice!
Thanks Angie, I love the way it turned out 🙂
Love the beachy vibe Jenna – and it looks great with the charger! Did you make that too?
Thanks so much Sara! Yes, I did make the charger a while back, I guess that’s why I had a stash of mini shells. Thanks so much for hosting~
Jenna, your beachy bottle is gorgeous and what a transformation! Pinned! Blessings, Cecilia @ My Thrift Store Addiction
Thanks so much Cecelia!
Love your beachy bottle Jenna, especially the ‘sandy’ bottom with the addition of shells! Hope you’re staying cool ♥
Thank you Mary 🐚
The beach on a bottle. What a great centerpiece for a summer party!
Thanks so much Ann!
Jenna, I am so amazed how you can look at almost anything and create the most interesting items from them. Your Beachy bottle is quite unique and very creative! I certainly can imagine a beach and all of its’ surroundings! You have the best ideas and creations!
Thanks so much Gail, and I feel the same about you!
Jenna, I love the beachy bottle! It is perfect on your charger. You are so creative🐚🐚🐚
It promises to be hot, stay cool!
Thanks Pam, I love the way it turned out 🙂
If a Jeannie popped out of this bottle, she’d have scales and a tail!
ha ha!
The bottle really does have a cool shape!
Thanks Dorothy!
This is so creative Jenna. You took an empty bottle that most of us would throw away, but you turned it into a beautiful masterpiece. LOVE IT!
Always Terrie

Thanks so much Terrie, I love to decorate bottles~
This is absolutely adorable. It makes me want to hit up the beach today. So cute and what a great way to recycle. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks so much Tammy!
This was a fun project Jenna and I love your beachy bottle. You had a great stash of shells and you found a creative way for using them. Hope you are enjoying the week……
Thank you Emily, it was a fun project 🙂
What a great idea, I always have extra bottles laying around, although none of mine are as fancy as yours. Great way to reuse a bottle and keep it from the landfill, a personal favorite of mine! Now I am ready for a breeze, and some sand hitting my feet.
Thanks so much Cara!
Beautiful way to upcycle a bottle. I never know what to do with bottles since not all of our sites recycle them. Thanks for sharing a great idea.
Thank you!
Cute! And the liquor sounds delish for a cold winter nightcap!! LOL
Patti, the Pecan Praline whiskey is my favorite cocktail! Look for it at your liquor store, it’s sooo good! I like it straight over ice, it’s delicious!
How cute is this bottle Jenna. You are so creative. Stay cool and Happy July
Thanks so much Kari!
I enjoyed this project tutorial. I am not artistically inclined, but I love doing crafts. They are more “forgiving” than some forms of artistic endeavor.
Thank you Linda, this was a lot of fun!
The transformation of that bottle is so creative and beach like. Love it. Such a beautiful piece now!
Thanks so much Judee!
I see why you wanted to create something with the bottle, it’s such a unique shape. Your painted beach scene works out perfectly on the bottle! Great idea for summer decorating.
Thanks so much Allyson, it was a fun project!

Thank you Beth, I don’t know why I always forget!!!!
I love how your beachy bottle came out! The sand on the bottom and added seashells make it very beachy! Awesome job, Jenna!
Thanks so much Nancy, it was a fun project!
What a fun craft project Jenna and it turned out great! It’ll be perfect for your beach house and I wouldn’t be surprised to see it on a table in the future. Love how you added the shells to the sand and it’s so cool how you made an interesting-shaped bottle into such a neat craft idea.
Thanks Kim, it really was a fun project! It’s actually at my “city” house so I can enjoy a little bit of the beach while I’m there 🙂
