Fearless Friday, Turkey Designs

It’s hard to believe that a week from today is November 1!

In the USA people are staring to think about Thanksgiving

Turkeys are the iconic symbol of Thanksgiving,

so today I’m sharing some turkey designs

that you can use to make place cards,

cards, and decorations for your table or home

This little turkey is easy to paint in just a few steps

After you paint the basic body with orange feathers,

add more feathers with red

Then add brown, a few black feathers, and paint his legs

Then give him a hat, a face and a red wattle

You can paint him on glasses, a pitcher, place cards, whatever you want

[Be sure to use curable paint for glass if painting on glass]

For the vase below,

I just painted his head and body on the vase

and then filled it with flowers for his “feathers”

I used an inexpensive glass vase

and painted a large brown circle for the turkey body

Then a pear shape for his neck and a oval shaped head

When the paint was dry he got a red wattle, eyes, beak, bird legs

And little feathers on his chest

You can also fill it with feathers or wheat

You can a paint a turkey on a wooden sign from the craft store

to hang on the wall or a door

Simple feathers with shapes of orange and yellow

A simple brown circle and pear shape for the body

and painted lines for legs and feet

A few swooshes for details and definition

A pilgrim hat and a wattle and this turkey is done!

It was just the right size to fit in the center of my fall wreath

It’s time to think turkey,

happy painting and…

Seems a little early for turkeys, the election is much closer than Thanksgiving and to many politics junkies, the most important holiday of all. Maybe you can paint some Kamala Harris and Donald Trump faces on some cups and glasses.

  2. I saw egg nog in the market yesterday!

When I visit my daughter and her 9-year old triplets next week, I’m going to run to the craft store for supplies and have fun painting with them. Thanks for your inspiration, Jenna!

  6. I’ve already kind of skipped over Halloween and put my turkey things out. I love Thanksgiving so this is the perfect project. I just love it and your good instructions! Gobble! Gobble!

LOVE the turkey wreath! Think it’s the chapeau that always makes the turkey fashionable. I believe there is a turkey on our family coat of arms–just funnin’!
Loving the fall weather here over in GA, but still praying for the folks in the Carolinas.

  8. They are so cool!

What a delightful post! I can’t believe Thanksgiving is just around the corner. I love the idea of using turkey designs for place cards and decorations—it adds such a festive touch to the table! As I prepare for the holiday, I’m also thinking about how important it is to create a welcoming environment, not just at home but in our communities. Collaborating with local engineering firms in Salt Lake City, UT can help enhance our public spaces for everyone to enjoy during the season. Thanks for sharing these creative ideas!

I was in Hobby Lobby today and there were a few aisles of Thanksgiving, but at least 1/3 of the store was devoted to Christmas. Beautiful, fun stuff–but so early! Your turkeys are as cute as anything I saw there. I especially like the vase that uses the flowers as the turkey feathers!

I love all of these projects, Jenna! I particularly like the wine glasses. I can totally see those as a part of my Thanksgiving table. Like you, I find it very hard to believe that in less than a week it will be November. It’s shocking, and a bit frightening, how quickly the time passes.

I’m with you, I can’t believe it is almost November and Thanksgiving is just around the corner. Your ideas are so creative and you are so kind to share them.

  13. These are all so cute! I hope I’ll have time to do something like this with the kids by TG!

Adorable Gobblers Jenna! 🦃 I especially love your wood sign/wreath! It’s hard to believe Thanksgiving is a month from today. 😲🧡

Oh these guys are all so cute Jenna! What fun to sip wine from gobble gobble glasses and I love how your little sign fits right inside your wreath! Happy Monday to you!

This is so cute! We are hosting Thanksgiving this year so I am looking for some ideas! Adding painted turkeys to the list! I also want to get my upholstery cleaned before everyone comes. So excited!
