Valentine Tree

Welcome to the January edition of the monthly Creative Craft Hop

Thank you Sara from Birdz of a Feather for hosting this month

Valentine’s Day is a month from today!

Valentine’s Day is one of our favorite holidays

because it’s my son’s birthday ❤️

We always go out of our way to make sure his birthday is special

I like to make themed trees for special occasions

Today I’m going to share my Valentine Tree

I used a silver tabletop tree

DSC_3760_2

I began the decorating process with ribbon

and a heart and cupid garland that I had in my decorations stash

DSC_3761

I set the tree in a white wooden crate

and tucked heart tissue in to cover the tree base

DSC_3762

Next, I added the shiny heart ornaments

and a ruffled light pink ribbon

This cupid ornament came out to perch near the top

I made paper ornaments and conversation hearts using PicMonkey

Valentine’s Day–Hooray! My favorite because of the hearts that punctuate the various bulletin boards, blogs and displays that I see as February approaches. I know where this love (of all holidays actually) came from–Bing Crosby and Fred Astaire as they played in the movie HOLIDAY INN long ago. Probably to the dismay of my mother I saw this and was SO impressed I became obsessed with decorating, even minimally, for ALL holidays. I must have driven her to distraction as we had to buy and create a salute to every holiday all year long. Thanks, Jenna, for this happy tree, that reminds me just how much I love to festoon the house with holiday touches and how my wonderful mother tolerated my wheedling for more and more decorations.

  22. Now that is one beautiful love tree filled with sweetness!

  23. Another cute idea, Jenna. I put away Christmas, brought out the snowmen, and now slowing adding a few valentine things. Thanks for the inspiration.

  24. Jill Kuhn says:

So sweet! 💗 You are so creative Jenna!

  25. I have a little pink tree, about three feet tall, that I didn’t get out for Christmas this year. I see its re-emergence in my immediate future! Thanks for the reminder of a seasonal tree!
