Health Scare

Hi everyone, as promised,

I’m back to tell you what’s been going on~

For the past several years I have been learning how to navigate

with advanced arthritis in my feet

I have a cane and with that, I have been getting round just fine

In recent weeks though,

I noticed I was getting weaker and weaker

It was getting more and more difficult

to move around the house without the help of a cart or a walker

and my appetite was non existent

Tuesday night I fell down, twice

After the second time,

my son and I decided I needed to go to the hospital

and find out what was going on

It turned out my sodium, potassium and magnesium levels

were very low and I was in A-Fib

Yikes

So there is a lot of work to do

I’ve been in the hospital since then

and they are giving me meds, IVs,

and working on improvements and adjustments

I will continue to be here a few more days,

then I will go to re-hab to work on getting around better

I feel fine and am ready to move on

and get back to normal life

I am trying to view my hospital stay as a vacation,

people waiting on me, meals served, a private room, haha…

Please come back on Thursday and we will get back to recipes,

art and the more fun side of life!!

Thank you so much for your prayers, kind words, and well wishes

They mean more than you will ever know…

We are all so glad you are reporting in and basically things are okay. Be consistent with your rehab to help you recover. We are all behind you–I am a Prayer Warrior at church and have had you in my daily prayers, but will include you in the formal meeting for our group tomorrow. Take care, eat your veggies and whatever else the doctor prescribes and you will be outta’ there quickly. Your fan base will keep you covered with good wishes and prayer in the meantime, you are much beloved. Hoping for the speediest return to great health, Bama!

Having lived with peripheral neuropathy in my feet and Afib and ‘the rest’ for a considerable time I do understand. In my case I do use a walker on ‘bad days’ and then walk my way out of it. There is no black and white, there is a day-by-day . . . great that the tests have been done and you know what to aim for and what you can logically do . . . all the best!

  27. Ricki Treleaven says:

I’m thankful you’re better. I will continue to pray for you as you go to rehabilitation.

Jenna, you are such a positive person! I would never have known you were working through all of these problems except for the notice that you would not be blogging for a little while. I’m praying for you as your doctors try to sort out your various issues. I’m glad you see this as a “vacation”–or you are trying to anyway. I’m sure your family is looking forward to your feeling better and coming home. God bless you in your recovery.💐💜🙏

  38. Jenna, I’m relieved to read this post and know that you are in good hands, making progress. I learned about the effects and dangers of low sodium with Monnie. It can easily lead to a stroke. Grateful your son took you to the hospital. I know hospitals are not all that comfortable, but keep your positive attitude. It will make a difference. Please know you are thought of, and I know you will be better and back home soon.

  41. Jenna, such a scary ordeal. I hope you are better. Take good care of yourself. So glad your son took you to the hospital. I have some arthritis as well in my fingers. The low sodium is indeed scary. Be well sweet friend.

Jenna, just a quick check on you. You sure have had a kick in the pants lately. Please know that I am praying for you, for your health and the closing of Society6. I love your postings and creativity. God bless you now and always.

  43. I’m very glad to hear you check in and especially glad that you decided enough was enough and went to the hospital. It sounds as though they are being very thorough and already have some answers and working on straightening that around. (I hear you on the afib — I have to have a cardioversion on Monday. Ugh.) I’m glad you are under good watch. Now I see another couple of posts, including one on Society 6. Off to check those out. Meanwhile, take care, get well. That had to be frightening and I know you are in good hands.

  44. Kari says:

Jenna I hope you know how much you are loved and prayed for. It is amazing all you have been doing with your cane in tow. I am so glad HHjr was with you and you went to hospital…I’m sure you were wanting answers which is sometimes half the battle. Prayers and blessings always. 🙏🏻🥰

My heart goes out to you and lots of prayers. I identify with you, I am going through some of the same things with my hands. I also read about your connection with Society 6 being broken. I am so sorry that you are having to walk through all this at this time in your life. It has always been such a joy to have you as a part of our blogging community and a wonderful role model for so many of us. You hang in there girl, you are in my prayers.
