Creations, May Daisy Basket

April Showers are almost over and May is a glorious sunny month in the South. I am going to put the umbrella away and hang this May Daisy Basket on our front door.
This basket is just a quick little make over for a basket I already had
I have used it many times for parties, it is fitted with florist foam and looks so pretty full of fresh blooms.
I bought 5 big bright daisies at the craft store and some burlap ribbon
I had a lot of fun making a polka dot burlap bow last month so I got out my handy dandy paint brush
Just a few big dots helter skelter down the ribbon length
I gave the ribbon a little clear polish across the bottom where I cut it to prevent fraying
I didn’t want to take out the florist foam because I want to use this again with fresh flowers. I just covered it up with the burlap ribbon, draping it across the top, and let it hang down each side of the basket
It is secured by a thin ruffled ribbon on each side
I bought this wood M at the craft store too,
it was actually a W but they were sold out of Ms so I just turned it upside down. How handy to have such a versatile last name initial!
The M got some mini polka dots too
A yellow dotted ribbon hangs on each side too, so there are polka dots going on everywhere in all shapes and sizes!
Just a bright way to welcome Summertime!

[…] May Day Daisy Door Basket […]
Neat project, Jenna! It really makes me want to step up my game for our front door! Our house is (STILL!) being painted, and I will have a cherry red front door when they are finished. I am excited about creating different new wreaths for it. Something like this with our initial would be great! Fun idea!
Have a great weekend, and enjoy this sunshine!!! (Although the sun has left the Kansas City area once again. Back tomorrow and throughout the weekend, though, so it’s all good!)
Thanks Alycia, I love that your front door is red! Doesn’t that have some special meaning like hospitality or good luck or something? I would love to paint ours a fun color. Enjoy your sunshine! Jenna

What I love is that you created this with a unique shaped basket, really draws the eye in my friend.
I have something similar that I use on my front door in Maine and you have given me a great idea for sprucing it up. Love the idea of the burlap ribbon draping down the door.
Cute basket, love the shape.
How cute!!! I use this same burlap ribbon all the time, but I have never thought about painting some dots on it…thanks for the idea!
Blessings,
Linda
What a fun and cute project. Love the polkadot burlap too. Great idea for May Day. I would love for you to link up to my Inspire Me party that is ongoing.
