Tablescapes, Flip Flops & Flowers

Prayers and Prayers and Prayers….
and we, the more fortunate today, go on with our normal lives…because that’s what we have to do, one foot in front of the other, taking the next step as they must…one moment at a time…
I have a little confession to make. It’s embarrassing. After all, I paint glass professionally. You would think a little glass jar would be a piece of cake. There are tons of tutorials in blogland on DYI tinted jars. I read them. I even knew how to keep it from washing off. But I can’t do it. Nope. Won’t even show you a photo. Total disaster. But I knew I had to have some of those blue tinted Ball jars…
I could have gone antiquing and hunted down some fabulous meaningful vintage ones, but patience is not my strong suit. Amazon.com knows this. With a few clicks these little blue beauties were on their way! $13.99 for a set of 6, no tax {boy I hope that doesn’t change!}, and free shipping. I was a happy girl!
They are pretty at night too!
A cobalt blue plate, a colorful striped napkin, and a mini flip flop
some jars with flowers
tea lights in blue hurricanes
and a festive summer table top is born!
No place mats today, just the plain bleached wood and a creamy charger marks the place setting
and a child’s size flip flop to hold the napkin
I could hardly wait for the sun to go down
so I could set the tea lights aflame
and see the blue jars by candlelight
how they glow and sparkle
in the sunshine and at night~
We are ready for a cozy little summer dinner for 2!
You will see these blue jars often, they are making appearances all over the place~ if you don’t have any now, watch out, I am going to make you want some!
Stop back by next week and you can see the before and after photos of this room, it’s quite shocking!!

So cute, love the blue and green. I love my flip flops. xo
Prays indeed!
I love the blue jars and don’t have any of the commemorative ones yet. I think J gave all the blue jars to a friend when we moved from the farm. I have one large one left, which is nice for bouquets in the kitchen.
Your table is fabulous. I love the flip flops. I need to remember this, for summer. On the list…$ store flip flops and blue jars.
Mine arrived yesterday. I used to have a bunch of them but used them over the years for gifts. Cute table!
Those blue mason jars are soooo pretty just a they are!!! LOVE the flip flops! The folks in Oklahoma need all the prayers they can get!!! thanks for sharing your very cute beachy table at TUTORIALS TIPS AND TIDBITS!
That is a wonderful table and the flip flops are so cute. Love all of the pretty blue glass. I had to order those blue ball jars too, aren’t they pretty?
Now that is a FUN table, Jenna! I love the blue canning jars and the flip flops make the perfect napkin holder!
So cute, love the green and blue combo and the flip flops are so perfect.
OK, I love it all. The blue jars are lovely and I guarantee worth the effort. BUT… I have a favorite thing from this table that just made me smile from ear to ear. It’s the flip flop holding the napkin. That is just plain adorable, and I am dying to do that here when My girls are home. They will be delighted. So cute!
This is just darling! I love the flip flop. Must do that soon…. Best wishes, Linda
I refuse to allow you to make me buy some! I refuse, I tell you! OK…gosh. Stop twisting my arm! I’m going over to Amazon already!!! 🙂 (Not really…I’d be in a heap of trouble!) Your setting is really terrific, and that blue just illuminates so beautifully with the candlelight nearby!!! Very pretty, Jenna! I love the choice of flowers for the jars, too. Your place settings are so cute…the flip flop is a fun touch!
We’ll forgive you your transgression re: the painting disaster. Just don’t let it happen again! 🙂
Alycia, you always crack me up! You are so sweet and funny, thank you so much. I hope you have a stellar weekend! Jenna
So many many things to love here. The meld of blues and greens is so artfully articulated. The mini flip flop is a perfectly wonderful touch of whimsy. Thank you so much for inviting us for a peak and for your prayers. Cherry Kay
I’m glad not to have seen this post before today because it really brightened this very gray day in Maine. I love that you have used the blue jars. My very favorite flower containers are jars and bottles, maybe because they make their own arrangement with just a stem or two.
oh gosh that flip flop is soo cute. I love that idea. and those blue jars.. well I’m with you on buying those things!!! I love the blue, especially with the candles. So pretty. xo marlis
What a beautiful table with so much fun and color and lights…I love this! The flip flop it’s adorable too! Loving the candles. Big hugs,
FABBY
