Tablescapes, Dragonflies and Summer Goodbye

These purple pole beans were my inspiration for this table…which I wanted to set this week for the Summer Fun party at Cuisine Kathleen…
All things summer fun, beach, camping, all those wonderful outdoor activities…except in Alabama it’s been raining. And raining. And raining. I didn’t go to the beach and set the table I wanted to show you today full of flip flops and watermelon~so today we’re bringing the outside in, with fireflies, frogs and pole beans!
Super Boy and his Dad brought these to me from the farmer’s market
They just knew I would appreciate their weirdness beauty. I immediately wanted to create a scary, spooky, creepy something beautiful end of summer table. I still think these beans would be cool in a Halloween vignette! I am trying to think summer, but my thoughts are turning to fall…
I started collecting all things purple and summery~
Out came the dragonflies~
and a frog or two
and might as well bring the polka dot birdhouse to the table
Nothing new here, just summer things seen before, and used often, brought together in a new way
My oversized bird cage and ever favorite McK-C vase, both in my favorite turquoise have both had a workout this spring and summer.
Touches of gold, chevron pillows, pastel dishware and white chargers~more of my favorite summer things~
These things will soon be put away, as summer ends and fall arrives~
But wait! My hydrangeas are still blooming!
and there are still fresh peaches at the store!
It won’t be fall in Alabama for a month or more yet…
There are still weeks of swimming and a long Labor Day weekend on the coast
The thing that will change soon though, thoughts will change from fishing to FOOTBALL!
We will be spending a little more time indoors~
Watching the Crimson Tide!
What teams will you be rooting for this fall? Roll Tide! Thanks so much for stopping by!

Love your latest tablescape! Turquoise and purple really go together, but don’t put your purple away just yet. Orange and rust tones compliment purple making it a wonderful fall color and I use purple ornaments on my white Christmas tree so it’s a color you can use year round! PS . . . love the lavender vase with those beautiful hydrangeas!!!
Thanks Gail! You’re right, purple is a great color for fall and winter, you have given me lots of ideas already!
Well I am sorry to say it won’t be Alabama☺ Its a GO Irish for us! My husband is already in the football mode…and all the fishing poles are having a siesta in the garage.
I’m so looking forward to fall and football, too. I’m a Big 10 girl, so the Iowa Hawkeyes are my team! Your hydrangeas are gorgeous – enjoy them while they last!
Love the colors, Jenna!
Jenna,
Thank you for visiting Botanic Bleu and helping me celebrate my first blogiversary by becoming a bloglovin’ follower. I have visited you before and sometime on a visit I began following you on bloglovin’. Living in Texas, many of my friends are UT Longhorn fans, but my family in Alabama are BIG Bama fans! Don’t call while a Bama game is on TV….

Yes, those beans are indeed a little bit creepy but also intriguing! I would like to see some prepared! The vase is gorgeous and I love your turquoise table. I wouldn’t mind jumping in that pool either. Linda
Jenna, now I really know that we can be friends!! I live in Georgia, but I am totally a Bama fan!! Both of my parents grew up in Alabama and my late dad would never forgive me, if I cheered against a team that was once coached by his idol, Bear Bryant!!! Now, for you cute table!! I love the way the purple beans looked in that lavender bowl – so gorgeous! All of your dragonflies are so adorable and the centerpiece is so colorful. Beautiful job. Rollllll Tide!!
Sorry – I bleed Scarlet and Grey – I am a Buckeye fan through and through. You will be seeing an Ohio State Table from me sometime through the season. Cute Table – I have never seen purple beans like that – we don’t have them up here in the north – at least I don’t think we do!!
Enjoyed your summery table, and each time I see that gorgeous McK-C parchment and turquoise vase my heart skips a beat. Boy oh boy would I like to add it to our McK-C pieces. 😉
Enjoy as much of the summer as you can. Very dramatic mix of color.

Hi Jenna~ Love your purply ode to summer! Your hydrangeas are beautiful and your MC vase is swoon-worthy! I had to chuckle at your creepy beans, I’m sure you’ll cook up something sinister with them before you cook them 🙂 I’m beyond ready to wave goodbye to summer and usher the fall in. It’s usually end of October to early November for us before the leaves turn and fall is in the air. This summer has been so bizarre with all the rain, who knows?!
Beautiful…love the blue and purple together.
Ahhh, college football in the south will soon be arriving! We are UGA fans (born and raised, of course) living next door to a Roll Tide alum. Can’t wait to get the battle of the flags going again this year. Its all in good fun though. Good friends, good times! Loving your tablescape.
I loved your collection of dragonfly items –isn’t it funny how we gravitate to one thing or another? I also loved how you moved swiftly into football season; my mind is not on football yet and we refuse to watch preseason pro football in our house. Thanks for sharing your lovely table.
I know those green beans are delish, but they do look kind of scary, like worms and i am gonna use them for haloween …then I wil eat them….
Actually, the beans aren’t that great, they are kind of tough~but yes, Halloween is definitely the way to go with them!
Jenna
OMG, what a gorgeous table with turquoise and purple, how unique! I would have never imagine what a great combo this is and for every season too. Dragonflies are so cte and your collection is awesome. Thanks for your kind and sweet visit.
FABBY
Beautiful table! Love all your pretty dragonflies. Love the turquoise & purple, such a lovely color combination.
Blessings My Friend,
Thanks so much!
Jenna
I can’t bear to think about summer being almost over because it was so late getting to Maine this year. Like it or not though, I see signs that fall is coming. I collect birdhouses so I like seeing the ones you’ve used on your table.
This is really cute, great colors! I’m originally from Huntsville (been gone 47 years!) and don’t remember purple pole beans! I’m sure I would love them! All my family back in AL are huge Bama fans! Both my daughters graduated from Florida State, so we are FSU fans here in FL!
Enjoyed your tablescape!

Whimsical and delightful…I might expect to see the Mad Hatter and Alice pull up a chair for tea. The MacKenzie-Childs vase is magnificent…a true treasure. Thanks for inviting us for a peak. Cherry Kay
Love the purple pole beans, I havn’t seen those in years. Great tablescape. Thanks for joining Inspire Me. Hugs, Marty
