Home Decor, A Little Progress on the Coast

Three weeks ago, when we arrived to check on the Little Remodel, the new room was finally framed in.

This is inside the new room looking into the house.  The window will become a door to attach the addition to the existing house.

They couldn’t remove the window until the other windows were in so the new window openings were covered in plywood.

Things weren’t much different when we arrived last Thursday.  3 weeks and barely a change.   #X@#X!*^#.

But we were making progress on our end, the vanity had been custom built and delivered, and it is gorgeous [think angels singing in a high octave here] ~

Here is the inspiration photo on the left and the new vanity photo on the right

The towel bar is still covered with blue protective tape while the staining is going on

We choose a gray green stain and it was lightly applied so the wood grain would show through.  The top is sealed with 5 coats of polyurethane

This is the tile that will be going on the wall behind it

And the two holes you can see cut in the top are for the vessel sink and faucet

Surprise!

DSC_4128

This is one crazy beautiful glass bowl sink with matching cascading waterfall faucet.  It has been sitting in my garage for 7 weeks, patiently waiting!

After many weather related slow downs, snow, wind and rain, and 2 days off for Mardi Gras, [ I know, really?  local customs and all that! ]we are finally where we need to be to get this little 100 square foot addition on it’s way to stardom~

The electrician has come

DSC_4633

The plumber has plumbed

DSC_4621

The heating and air ducts have been run

DSC_4625

The windows were hung

DSC_4629

And the sheet rocking has finally begun!

DSC_4619

Of course it’s a mess

DSC_4624

This is no time for guests

DSC_4631

There is still much to do

DSC_4634

Before we are through

DSC_4637

And why can’t the workers just do

what we would do?

DSC_4638

Throw the trash in the dumpster in the driveway,

that’s what it’s there for anyway!!

DSC_4631

They got a lot done while they were under our thumb

DSC_4632

In no time at all, there will be tile on the floor and the walls!

DSC_4639

There’s still plenty to do on the front side of the house too

DSC_4641

The back porch is almost done, but it’s still not much fun

DSC_4640

Everywhere you can see

DSC_4642

There are piles of debris!

DSC_3603

This week my son is bringing in his crew from Birmingham to finish the bath and I simply can’t wait,

I just know it’s going to look great!!

DSC_3602

Can you believe how complicated this little tiny corner is?

I hope to be posting the final reveal in a few weeks and I will share all my sources with you then~

  4. Looks like there’s a lot of action going on there! I am head over heels in love with the sink you picked out… how gorgeous is that?!

  5. Love the beautiful sink you have chosen. Happy to hear that you will be at the meet-up in Fairhope next week. See ya there 🙂

    Blessings,

I’m looking forward to the reveal Jenna, just as I know you’re ready to be finished! Dealing with permits and subcontractors is never fun. Love the fun, colorful sink and the porch is going to be great!

I’m glad to know things are progressing with the addition. It looks great! It is surprising how slow something small can go – until all of a sudden, you’re done. I know what you mean about workmen – oblivious to trash dumpsters. I can hardly wait to see it when you’re done. Oh, and that sink is so “you”. It’s beautiful! I wish I had known about the blogger’s conference earlier. My husband just planned a trip out of town for early next week. Boo-hoo. I would have loved going to that!!

  8. CraftyHope says:

Holy cow! That place is going to be phenomenal when you get done! You said you have a place down there, but I had no idea. I am a bit jealous I’ll admit. More than anything though, I can’t wait to see it all finished. 🙂

    • Thank you Hope! It was so great to meet you today, and I look forward to getting to know everyone better~thanks for the sweet comments, right now I am sitting in a room full of sheet rock dust~which I think is why I was coughing and blowing all through the meeting this morning, sorry! I am going to pop over and look at your jewelry asap!
