Today we’re going to do a little shopping!

Welcome to Silverhill Market

DSC_0064

This funky little spot is tucked away in Silverhill Alabama, between Fairhope and Robertsdale, about 45 minutes from the beaches

DSC_0001

When I pulled up to this polka dot tire rooster, I knew I was going to love this place!

DSC_0002

The Southern Bloggers Jubilee had their May meeting here and we were greeted by eye candy and Southern hospitality everywhere!

DSC_0007

So much to see!

DSC_0003

There’s a market, cafe, boutique and a barn

DSC_0005

and something to see literally on every square inch of the property, inside and out!

DSC_0006

The barn has a red door of course

DSC_0014

and is adjacent to a vine covered gated garden

DSC_0011

Roosters roam among the blooms

and this burlap “hostess” with her “highlights” greets you at the door

DSC_0026

Let’s go inside and have a look

DSC_0027

It is “udderly” charming!

DSC_0028

Lots of inspirational words and signage

DSC_0032

I loved this turnip greens sign flanked by the black striped valances

DSC_0030

We spied Audrey Hepburn so we knew we were in the right place for high fashion

DSC_0034You can powder your nose in the powder room, but that’s about it!

DSC_0033The kitchen is a busy place too, but not for cooking…for perusing all the wonderful goodies to buy

DSC_0036Burlap valances hug the windows and white lights brighten dark corners

DSC_0038There’s everything from marmalade to moonshine

DSC_0039In the cafe you can get a fancy coffee and a piece of homemade cake

DSC_0047The ceilings are galvanized roofing tin and the floors are wooden

DSC_0048You will find lots of characters

DSC_0045And things from the past

DSC_0046Outside there is a bamboo garden with paths, benches and curtains!

DSC_0043This is a cool way to hang groupings, unifying arrangements with large colored frames

DSC_0042Oink oink and Saddle up!

DSC_0049How about this unusual lamp shade

DSC_0054Every girl needs a chandy to hang her pearls on

DSC_0052and a window filled loft to display her gowns

DSC_0059A lady’s boutique

DSC_0061is full of vintage treasures

DSC_0060This chicken wire “gown” decorates the lawn out front

DSC_0004The nursery beckons gardeners with a rainbow of flowers

DSC_0024and hanging baskets

DSC_0025

Whimsey and fun

DSC_0023

Is absolutely everywhere

DSC_0058

What a charming place

DSC_0056

I will definitely be back soon!!

DSC_0029Believe it or not, I didn’t buy a thing, I was too overwhelmed with all the creativity everywhere~did anything you’ve seen inspire you?  Put your creative hat on and get busy!

Thanks for the link to my post Jenna! I missed a lot during our visit. There was even more to see than what’s in your photos and my photos combined! So much cool stuff! Lots of inspiration too! I will definitely have to go back and take my time going through it all again.

This post brought back so many memories. For a decade, we had a condo in Orange Beach, AL. My mother and I had so many adventures–shopping and culinary. Fun post!

I know you loved this outing! I went to a flea market in Florence today, but it was closed. That might have been just as well because I would have a hard time taking anything of size home. I’m likely to get a little behind responding for the next few weeks, but I am checking in.

Oh what a fun spot Jenna! I keep scrolling up and down the photos, I would have overwhelmed too, delightfully so! I think I might have to have brought home a bird house or some trinket for my potting shed 🙂
