Do you dream of a fantasy space with a blinged out chandy, a fireplace and a fabulous rug?        source

Sigh…it is fun to dream…

I am currently using The Mermaid Room, a guest bedroom,  as my “dream closet” when I’m at the beach house…

It has everything a fantasy closet should have!

It has a lovely poofy place to lounge

Mermaid Room

A comfy chair for reading and relaxing

Concealed storage

A big clock to keep me from lingering too long  😴

A mirror and a shelf for primping

mini vanity

Sort of a mini vanity for pretties or make-up  💄

mirror and shelf

There’s a desk

With storage shelves for necessities

Baskets hung on the wall tucked into the corner, handy for smaller items, and a luggage rack to hold tote bags

wall baskets

Oh and clothes! Of course!  This is really the dreamy part because everything in this closet is a favorite~

Isn’t that the ultimate closet fantasy, a closet full of clothes you love, that fit perfectly and that you want to wear?

This where I hang the favorite part of my wardrobe, long dresses for lounging and parties and sundresses for daytime~

so cool and comfortable for hot summer days

There’s another closet in the master bath, but it’s not very big…so I sorta spread out a little…

In an effort to be fair I let HH keep his Dewalt drill stuff on the shelf  😊

This is a great place to hang hand washables for drying too~ the ceiling fan takes care of it in no time

Day at the Beach painting

Bursting with color this space is like a happy zone~

Now maybe this doesn’t qualify as an actual luxury closet but it is certainly a luxury to me!

Although, I would love to have a salmon pink sliding barn door hiding a flat screen TV and a wine fridge   source

But then I would never leave  😘

Here some more ideas you just might be able to use, a little more practical and affordable than a zebra skin rug and a crystal chandy …

Even if you can’t put this in your closet all you need is an outlet and some wall space   source

How about this chic upgrade to your closet doors?  See this cool tutorial here

Add pizzazz with paint or wallpaper and some drama with black, white and gold like Marty did at A Stroll Thru Life

Use art and some favorite things to add color and personality to your private spaces like my friend Ellen did at Scribbler Unfocused

Oh and here’s the really good news! Did you know there’s an app for organizing your closet?  It’s called Stylebook

You can plan outfits, packing, mix and match, keep track of what you have, right on you iPhone or iPad!

  1. Forget the closet! I ADORE the desk!

  2. I’d love a luxury closet! Mine is a walk-in, but it is long and narrow. I’d love to put stacks of drawers in it for all my knits, but there isn’t room. One thing I do love is that it is just wide enough for clothes to hang down both sides but still leaves enough in the middle for me to dress in there. The other great thing is the window at the end, so I can air out the closet anytime the weather cooperates.

  3. Oh, I love the sliding barn door! We live in a 1950s house, so closet space at all would be great. 🙂

I am honored to be included in your article. I envy that whole colorful Mermaid Room, to have a colorful space like that just for you. We have kind of done that for Ray upstairs with the small third bedroom, and he loves it. I need to convince him to add on a room so I will have one, too!

  5. I am so blessed to have a huge closet but I am ashamed to say it is full of old clothes and not organized. I also never have enough hangers! Why is that?
    Your pretty photos are dreamy.

  6. Lynn says:

Some of those closets are bigger than my livingroom! Love the one with the fireplace:@)

  7. Mary says:

I have closet envy Jenna! Our lake house was built in 1984, the decade of big hair, not big closets…*sigh*. I’ve been admiring those sliding barn door tutorials on Pinterest too. Your love of color and pattern shines through to your wardrobe too 🙂

  8. Lauree says:

Love it! I’m already thinking about adding those glam chic doors to my master bath redo…whenever I finally get to that project.

  9. Tianna says:

thanks for the inspiration! I really would love a sliding door walk in closet, but I live in an apartment lol so just tiny little ones, but at least there’s 2 I guess?

    stop by and chat ♥
