Take-out Tuesday, Ranch Chicken with Alabama White Sauce

You know the saying that “pork is the other white meat?”

You might call this “the other BBQ,”  a white version using chicken instead of pork and white sauce instead of red

4 bone in or boneless chicken breasts, thighs or legs

2 T dry Ranch dressing mix

2 T vinegar

2 T olive oil

Rinse chicken and pat dry.  Place in a large ziplock bag or bowl.  Mix dressing mix with oil and vinegar and pour over chicken.  Seal bag or cover bowl and refrigerate chicken for 2-8 hours.  Grill, basting occaionally with white sauce,  for 30-45 minutes or until chicken is done all the way through.  Serve with more Alabama White Sauce on the side.

Alabama White Sauce

3/4 cup mayonnaise

1/3 cup lemon juice, about 2 large lemons

1/4 cup sugar

1/3 cup vinegar

salt and pepper to taste

Combine ingredients and refrigerate until use.  Makes about 1 1/3 cups

This recipe was one of my first posts and I thought it was worth re-posting because it’s so fast and easy, and a nice change from traditional BBQ
