August was a very tough month, HH passed away unexpectedly on August 1.  These past few weeks have been full of grieving of course, but they have also been full of family, many many friends, comfort and love. Yes, my life has changed in a very big way, but it’s the small things, the familiar things, cooking, drawing, painting, writing that haven’t changed…these things continue to bring me daily joy and keep my heart at peace.

Cooking is another art form for me, and the monthly paint bucket is my way of putting my own spin on recipes created by others or made up by me…

What sounds good to you this month?

  1. Jenna, caramel apple sounds like fall has arrived and I am so ready! Lots of great sounding food for September. Mushroom ricotta pasta, now that has to be good❤️

  2. Mmm, it all looks delicious. It’s still grilling season here so we are enjoying that. 🙂

These are some mighty fine dishes. I love the brussels sprouts/okra combination. You can be sure we are ready for cooler temps as Maine has been quite warm recently. Not the norm for sure.

I’m ready for fall, you recipes and art today are wonderful!

  5. Caramel apple sounds fun. Loved blueberry month! Your tricked up chicken salad will live long in our household — even if I have to buy blueberries from Chile!

    • The price of blueberries can really fluctuate, it seems some weeks they are cheap and then all of a sudden they are like gold! I love them though and usually buy them year round 🙂

It’s always hard for me to say good bye to summer with the relaxing beach days and pool fun, but also pleasing to think of cooler crisp nights, late night bonfire talks, fun pumpkins and delicious hot cider and fresh donuts. Your food lineup sounds delicious! LOVE caramel!

    • Thank you Cyndi, I feel the same way, I love summer but a new season always is exciting…it will be hot in Alabama until mid October, so no sweaters here for a while 🙂

  7. Everything sounds so delicious! Where do I start? 🙂

  8. Lynn says:

Lovin’ the sound of that apple pie dip!!! Happy Long Labor Day Weekend Jenna:@)

  9. Mary says:

Love your creativity in the kitchen Jenna, bring on the caramel apple! I’m beyond ready for fall…the heat and humidity has been oppressive this week. Thinking of you and hoping your Labor Day weekend with family is filled with love and fond memories. ♥

  10. Catching my breath here and wanted to say hello. Hope your weekend is good with lots of sunny weather. Everything looks delicious here and I am so ready for fall weather and cooking. Oh, and of course AL football. Thinking of you……….
