Fearless Friday, Artist Gifts

You know the old adage in sports, Equipment is Everything?
Well same goes for art, artist’s need good supplies
I admit, I have a passion for art supplies, of all types and mediums
I have found some really great ones this fall which would make perfect gifts for yourself or artist friends
I recently bought some new sketch books with different papers
Black sketch pad, available here
This black paper has tons of possibilities
I’m experimenting with gray paper too, which I’ve used for pastel but not any other medium
Toned Gray sketch book available here
How about a desktop easel?
This is my new favorite purchase, it’s a mini easel, with a drawer for supplies. It’s perfect for a table or lap desk
Arteza Wooden Desktop Easel available here
It’s 13″ x 10″ and the perfect size for using on a lap desk, you can sit in a comfy chair and sketch away!
I also bought another organizer like the one I recently told you about before, I LOVE this thing!
It’s perfect for holding a variety of different pens and pencils, with flexible rubber slots that can accommodate skinny pencils or fatter markers and paint pens
I keep my favorite and most used pens in one organizer. It keeps all my most used utensils where I can find them or transport them easily to another location
I keep the other one empty,
ready to fill with the palette of colored pens, pencils or markers
for the current project I’m working on
It keeps them handy, organized and not rolling around on the desk top
It’s a Sew Emma stand available here
Paint pens come in handy sometimes, I like this set by Posca available here
I used the white one for the raccoon face pictured with the black pad above, and the gold one for this angel {the white gown and the face were painted with white ink and watercolor
This Tombow mini eraser is great for delicate touch ups, and erasing in tight spots, it is available here
Moko LED Desk Lamp is great for turning on when you need more light
It is battery powered, adjusts in many angles, and folds for storage
lamp available here
Another great gift to give or receive is a monthly subscription art box
You can sign up for 1 month, 3 months or a year and can cancel at any time
They are always full of goodies, and they keep the contents secret
Just like getting a present!
See Sketch Box here
See Art Snacks here
All of these supplies are good quality and affordable
I hope I’ve given you some gift ideas for your family, friends or yourself!
{don’t tell Santa but I ordered the December boxes from each company for myself…

Oh good Johanne, I am so glad! You should try the subscription boxes, they have introduced me to so many different supplies and techniques. Great to hear from you, I have enjoyed seeing your fabulous paintings on IG. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
I see a couple of things that might be perfect gifts for my friend Kate (and maybe me, too!) Thanks — lots of these I hadn’t seen.
You are so welcome Jeanie, nothing like new art supplies to play with!!
I enjoyed seeing your list of art supplies, Jenna – great gift ideas! I have never tried the sketchbox. I will have to give it a try in the new year. I love art supplies too and have most of the ones you recommend! 😜
Tell Santa you want a subscription to Sketch Box for Christmas! You would love it!! Happy weekend Jill!
Great list of supplies and gifts, Jenna! 😊 I recently bought a small black pad and white Posca pen that I need to try out. Love 💗your artwork!
Thank you, I love yours too!
Jenna, my son was quite the young artist. I made sure he had art lessons and he actually loved it for three years or so, and then he completely lost interest, but took up music. I don’t think I had ever told you…my only experience with art supplies!
He is obviously a talented artist Pam, I can see it in his gorgeous photographs!
What wonderful ideas you’ve shared, Jenna! The subscriptions would be fret gifts for my son. Thank you for all your recommendations.
Oh yes Kitty, I think your son would love these art boxes!
